STUDENT ACTIVITIES

The TED Talk for Tuesday, May 4 will help you learn how to converse with others better. Celeste Headlee poses the question, “Is there any 21st-century skill more important than sustained, coherent, confident, conversation?” Working as a radio host for decades, Headlee knows the ingredients of a great conversation: Honesty, brevity, clarity and a healthy amount of listening. In this insightful talk, she shares 10 useful rules for having better conversations. “Go out, talk to people, listen to people,” she says. “And, most importantly, be prepared to be amazed.”

Tickets for all home athletic events are electronic only. Follow this link and find your event to purchase at gofan.co

COUNSELING DEPARTMENT

A list of Superintendent’s Award winners for this year has been posted on the wall outside the office door, across from the nurse’s office.  This is awarded to students with no nine-week grade or semester grade, for this school year, below an A-.  The fourth nine-week grades and second semester grades are not figured into this.  If you think you should receive the Superintendent’s Award, check this list.  If your name is not on the list but should be, see Mrs. Waterford in the Guidance Office.

Seniors: Honors Night is Wednesday, May 19. If you are receiving a college scholarship, we want to recognize you for this event. We often do not know which students are receiving scholarships. Please let the guidance secretary, Mrs. Waterford, know of any scholarship(s) you are receiving. Along with this, bring documentation of the scholarship(s) to the guidance office. This could be a copy of a letter, certificate, etc. from the college or organization that is awarding you the scholarship. See Mr. Faust or Mrs. Waterford if you have questions.

Students who would like to request to see their counselor, should complete this Google form: Request to See Your Counselor. The form should only be completed using the student’s RBB email.
