This week’s Tuesday Ted Talk celebrates warm weather and sunlight: Our bodies get Vitamin D from the sun, but as dermatologist Richard Weller suggests, sunlight may confer another surprising benefit too. New research by his team shows that nitric oxide, a chemical transmitter stored in huge reserves in the skin, can be released by UV light, to great benefit for blood pressure and the cardiovascular system. What does it mean? Well, it might begin to explain why Scots get sick more than Australians.

The past two weekends were very successful for the Edgewood Winter Guard and Winter Percussion!  The Winter Percussion earned a spot in the Percussion State Finals with a performance of their show “The Crown” at Avon last weekend!  They will travel to Ben Davis this Saturday and compete at 3:32 PM!  The Winter Guard also punched their ticket to state finals by winning their past two contests!  They will be performing their show “Pay it Forward” this weekend in the winter guard state finals at 7:45 PM at Franklin Central High School. Congratulations to these amazing young performers!
