GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Student Vehicles: All student vehicles MUST be registered and stickered before this Friday, 10/22. Any students with unregistered vehicles on Friday and after will be given an automatic Thursday school. Parking Permit Registration

Seniors: All seniors will turn in their graduation order forms and payment at school on October 22 during English class. If you know you will be absent on the 22nd, you must turn in your order form and payment by Wednesday, October 20 to Mrs. Johnson. We will post a video of the presentation to the graduation section on our website once we are able.

Students who order merchandise such as shirts, lanyards, tassels will receive those items on the 22nd. If absent, you may pick yours up in the office on or after Monday the 24th if you turned in your order form early.

Virtual students should bring their order forms and payment to the office on or before the 22nd.

Kirkwood Retakes: EHS Retakes and Virtual Students 2021-22

Juniors:  Scheduling appointments have been posted outside the back entrance to the office and across from the cafeteria.  Be sure to check your appointment date/time so you will be prepared.  If your parent wants to participate via Zoom, let your counselor know ASAP.

Afghan Refugee Project: Ellie Wooden is collecting items for the Afghan Refugees in Indiana for an NHS project. Items listed here can be donated to a box in Mrs. Niehoff’s room through October 22.

Key Club is collecting donations for UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund). The homeroom that collects the most money will win a donut party on Nov. 8th! Donate any loose change or spare dollars, anything helps!

Tutoring: Edgewood’s Tutoring Site, sponsored by NHS, offers tutoring in Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Computer Science, and Choir. Students will be able to simply submit their questions on a Google Form and NHS tutors will respond. The forms, along with more information, can be found at this link.

Attention students returning from quarantine. Remember that you will need to eat lunch in the gym for four days upon returning to school. You MUST check in with Ms. Dirk in the gym each day at lunch. Students who do not will be assigned detention.

Students who have Chromebook issues should submit a ticket at http://helpdesk.rbbschools.net/portal/page/15-student-chromebook-ticket

Student Drivers: All students who plan to drive to school must have a completed Parking Permit Registration on file with the school even if the car has been previously registered by another EHS student/sibling and already has a parking tag. Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Writing Contest: Looking for something fun to do here at school? Anyone can write a scary short story and enter the Flash Fiction writing contest. Categories range from 6 to 1,000 words, so give it a try.  For more details, read the bulletin board outside the media center. Deadline to enter is this Monday, the 25th. All who enter the contest are invited to a flash fiction party during lunch next Thursday, with prizes, a snack, and flash horror movies. Join in the fun!

French Club: The first French club meeting will be Tuesday, October 26 after school in the French room from 2:30-3:10.  We will be painting pumpkins.  If you would like to be a part of French Club simply show up to the first meeting with the dues (which are $3 for the year).

Student Life Task Force: Interested in joining the Student Life Task Force? Our mission is to evaluate and change school policies to better the school and school environment. All are welcome to apply using this form. Reach out to Mrs. Boisvert-Storey if you have any questions.

TED Talks are back! This year we will have them on Thursdays during the longer lunch periods. Please sign up in advance outside the media center.

Students who would like to request to see their counselor, should complete this Google form: Request to See Your Counselor. The form should only be completed using the student’s RBB email.
