Vaccine Clinics: There will be a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine clinic offered to students ages 12 and older at EHS during the school day on Thursday, September 16th. Parents who wish to have their student vaccinated at school need to read and complete the consent and health questionnaire found HERE. Students can pick up the paperwork from our Health Office as well. The deadline for all paperwork to be turned in to the office is this Friday, September 3rd.

Need homework help?

Library Book Requests: If you have not received a library book you requested, there’s a good chance it was already checked out or we couldn’t find it. The fiction section is now organized, so to check out a book students may now visit the library. Deliveries to homerooms has ended. Come visit your library (still under renovation) to check out a book!

Student Drivers: All students who plan to drive to school must have a completed Parking Permit Registration on file with the school even if the car has been previously registered by another EHS student/sibling and already has a parking tag. Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office during the first week of school to receive your sticker.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Softball: Anyone who wants to play on the school softball team who hasn’t been a member in the past needs to see Mr. Hammett in the Commons during lunch this week.

Baseball: The team will start off-season workouts on Tuesday, September 7 at the baseball field. Workouts will be from 3 until 4:15.

Swimming: ATTENTION: anyone interested in Swimming and Diving this year! Coach Kohne is holding pre-season conditioning on Mondays-Wednesdays-Fridays before school.  Conditioning will include dryland exercise, weight lifting and flexibility training.  Once the pool is ready, we will also add in pool time!  Sessions will start on Monday, September 13 at 6:00am.  If you are interested in joining the team and you are not in a fall sport, come and get a head start on the season!

Key Club: Do you like to help people? Join Key Club! We are a student-led, service organization that helps out the community. Spectrum-GSA: Edgewood’s Gender-Sexuality Alliance will be having a call-out meeting this Thursday in Mr. Axsiom’s room, A116, at 2:30 p.m. All LGBTQ+ students and allies are welcome. Join us!

Art club: Join us on Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 in A106. All are welcome!

Edgewood Best Friends Club: If you are looking for an opportunity to have fun and make a positive impact on someone’s life, then the Best Friends Club is for you! Please keep your eyes open for a flyer in the hallway to sign up or talk to Mr. Carmichael in room E143 if you would like more information. Please sign up ASAP as we will hold our first meeting in early September.

Lacrosse: The Lacrosse Team is beginning off-season practices, Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm at the soccer fields. Contact Coach Mary (mellis@rbbschools.net) for more information or join the Remind Group by texting @edgewoodla to the number 81010. No knowledge of the sport or gear is required for these practices. Come and learn about a new sport!

Students who would like to request to see their counselor, should complete this Google form: Request to See Your Counselor. The form should only be completed using the student’s RBB email.

EXTENDED OPPORTUNITIES

Mark your calendars! The Edgewood Dollars for Scholars 5K Run/Walk is Saturday, September 11th at 8:30 AM, starting behind EIS. In May 2021, Dollars for Scholars awarded almost $47,000 to Edgewood seniors. Volunteers Needed: The Boys and Girls Club will host a volunteer call-out session on September 18 at the Lincoln Street Club. The RSVP link and list can be found at https://bgcbloomington.org/volunteer/

The Monroe County Youth Council (MCYC) is looking for more representation. The Monroe County Youth Council is comprised of volunteer leaders from all of the Monroe County high schools. It gives students the opportunity to have a voice in our local government. It also plans various activities for local youth. One of the most popular activities they plan is the Global Youth Service Day. Join fellow youth who want to better our community through leadership and service.
