Congratulations to the boy’s tennis team on their 3-2 win against Brown County! Ryne Klinger, Christopher Zelhof-Arriaga, Zane Walcott, and Eli Fields all won their matches to get the win.

Congratulations to both volleyball teams on their wins last night against Greencastle! The 7th-grade team fought hard and won after 3 sets. The leading players were Meg Wilson with 4 aces, 6 digs, and 17 assists, also Cora Jones with 3 aces, 3 digs, 14 assists and 2 kills. The 8th-grade team was just as impressive with Bella May getting 11 aces, 1 dig, 6 assists, and 4 kills, and Addilynn Winders getting 6 aces and 1 dig. Great job ladies!!

7th grade football beat the Tri-North Trojans 32-0. Trae Shields started the game off with a fumble recovery. The offense followed it up with a quick score. On the Trojan’s next drive, Carter Matthew intercepted their pass and ran it back for a touchdown. Eli Stewart connected with Will Hosey with a quick pass and Hosey ran it in for a touchdown! The Colts will travel to Brown County for their next game.

Any girl planning on staying for softball conditioning today needs to meet in Mrs. Ayer’s room, dressed and ready to practice at 2:35.   You need to wait until the car rider bell rings before leaving 4th period. Please fill out the google form linked to the announcements before the end of the day.  If you do not sign up or do not have a physical on file, you will not be permitted to stay.  Make sure you have arranged for a ride to pick you up at 3:45 today

6th grade girls’ basketball will be having their open gym September 26th-28th from 4:00-5:30 pm. (Girls in all grade levels are encouraged to attend) Tryouts will be on September 29th and 30th from 4:00-5:30 pm.

EJHS is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a monthly Career Panel with our community partners at The Success School! September’s Career Panel is THIS Friday, September 16. Join us in the Library as we learn from life science professionals from Baxter Pharmaceuticals. If interested, sign up here!

The Edgewood Junior High School Student Council is an extracurricular organization that promotes student togetherness, school spirit, community awareness, charitable activity, and leadership. We welcome all interested students to apply for Student Council by clicking on this link and following the listed instructions. All applications are due by Monday, September 19. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 27th from 2:30-3:30.

The countdown to the Book Fair is on! From September 19th thru the 30th, The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Edgewood with hundreds of awesome book options that YOU get to choose from. We can’t wait to welcome you to the Best. Week. Ever.

It is not too late to join EJHS art club! You also do NOT have to be a current art student to join. This Thursday we will have a representative here from Hoosier Hills Food Bank who will give us entry forms and speak about the requirements for this year’s calendar contest. The EJHS EdgeShop is now open – featuring designs and creations from our EJHS students! Come check out our student-made products and support the design lab. – you can see examples of products in the case outside Mrs. Guest-Scott’s room, or by clicking the link in the announcements or on the QR code on the fliers.

All EJHS identifying girls are invited to join our Girls Coding Club this fall – if you are interested in using the power of coding to create, communicate and design, gain STEM skills, and connect with women in tech, click the link in the online announcements to sign up

Fall Sports Spirit Days – Any EJHS student that wears that day’s spirit wear to the game, will get free admission.

RBBCSC – Chromebook Protection Plan – Opt-in: The deadline to enroll is 9/30/2022. The new opt-in protection plan is for only $33.00 for a whole school year! Coverage begins on the first day of school and ends July 1st the following year. Sign-up is easy. Just go to K-12 Tech’s Edgewood School Sign Up page, fill out the form, and submit a payment via credit/debit card.

Coming soon to Edgewood Junior High!  Our 2nd Annual Pumpkinfest will be held on October 29th, so mark your calendars! The night will include a trunk or treat, a pumpkin walk, a pumpkin derby, and more! There will be multiple opportunities to grab a snack along the way. More details to come.

Try Lacrosse!
The Bloomington Lacrosse Organization will be hosting a FREE “Try Lacrosse” series this weekend! If you have ever wanted to play or learn about this fast-paced, energetic sport, this is a perfect opportunity to do so in a casual, laid-back atmosphere. Sunday, September 18th, 2-4 pm
At “The Bowl” @ Karst Farm Park (1st open field on the left as you enter the park) Next Event October 9th. Anyone ages 8 to 18 is welcome to join. Come out and Try Lacrosse! Email: bloomingtonlax@yahoo.com for more information. * All equipment will be provided.
