September 2, 2021

There will be a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine clinic offered to students ages 12 and older at EJHS during the school day on Thursday, September 16th. Parents who wish to have their student vaccinated at school need to read and complete the consent and health questionnaire found HERE. The deadline for all paperwork to be turned in to the office is this Friday, September 3rd.

The EJHS student handbook states that once a student arrives at school he/she is to remain at school until the end of the school day. In case of illness, the student must report to the health office and the health aide will determine if the student meets the criteria to be sent home. The health aide will contact a parent if the student needs to leave school. If the student contacts a parent directly without seeing the health aide, the absence will be unexcused.

Please remember that Chromebooks are school property and writing and/or stickers should not be placed on them.

The Colts’ cross country team traveled to Eastern Greene Wednesday to compete against the Thunderbirds and the Owen Valley Patriots. The Colts trampled the competition, coming in first in the girls’ and boys’ races. Leading the herd for the girls was Hannah Crain, taking the first overall spot with a time of 12:01. She was followed by Ellie Vagedes in 3rd, Allison Bland in 4th, Sophia Mobley in 5th, Nerissa Zelhof-Arriaga in 6th, Maya Gill in 7th, and Jenna Robbins in 11th. In cross country, like golf, the low score wins. Final results had the Colts with 19, Eastern with 56, and OV with 61. Nice job ladies!
On the boys’ side, the Norris brothers took first and second. Davin finished in 11:29 and A.J. was right behind him, finishing five seconds later. Braiden McGinnis took 3rd, Aiden Lee was 9th, Logan Dohm finished 13th, Hank Ripley 15th, and Henry Norris 19th. For a young team, this was a great first outing, winning by a score of 28 to 33 to 69. Keep up the hard work and good luck tonight against Batchelor!

Congratulations to the tennis team on playing a great match both home and away yesterday. In the match against Brown County, they won 4-1!
