Tennis: Congratulations to the Varsity girls tennis team for receiving Team Academic All State!

Softball: Girls Varsity Softball takes Sectional Title with 4-3 win over Indian Creek.

In a tight game that was very exciting, the Lady Mustangs came away with the title having defeated the Indian Creek Braves 4-3.

The Mustangs were led in hitting by Alayna Flynn and Meleah Vest with 2 hits each.  Having 1 hit each were Piper Stephens, Madi Bland, Courtney Hamilton and Ally Bland.

The Ladies scored in the first when Piper opened the game with a walk.  Alayna and Meleah followed that up with singles which loaded the bases.  Piper scored when Ella Sproul was hit by a pitch.  After giving up 2 runs in the bottom of the first, the Indians had a 2-1 lead.  It stayed there until the 5th when Meleah blasted a homer to tie the game at 2s.  The Mustangs scored single runs in the 6th and 7th.

In the sixth they scored when Courtney started the inning off with a walk.  Singles by Ally Bland, Piper and Alayna scored pinch runner Addison Yearby.  In the 7th, Madi Bland led off the inning with a double and scored on Courtney’s RBI single to close out the Mustang scoriing.

The Lady Mustangs were able to shut down Indian Creek in the 7th after they gave a small fight when Kaylee Hawkins pulled in a fly ball for the last out.

The Lady Mustangs will play at Tri-West on Tuesday for the Regional title.
