As a school district, we are always working to improve the program’s services we provide to our students, faculty, and families. However, in order to improve our organization, schools cannot embark upon the journey of continuous school improvement alone. More can be accomplished and realized if schools, families, and communities work together to promote student success. In order to facilitate this kind of partnership, the Richland-Bean Blossom Community School Corporation is a district member of the National Network of Partnership Schools.
The National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS), established at Johns Hopkins University in 1996, invites schools, districts, states, and organizations to join together and use research-based approaches to organize and sustain excellent programs of family and community involvement that will increase student success in school. in an effort to facilitate excellent programs of family and community involvement throughout RBB Schools, each of the five schools supports a Partners in Education Team (P.I.E. Team) which uses the School Improvement Goals coupled with the 6 types of involvement as defined by the NNPS to create an annual plan for the school. These P.I.E. Teams consist of school personnel, community members, and parents.
If you are a parent or community member interested in joining a particular school’s P.I.E. Team, please contact our Family Engagement Coordinator, Jill Ferguson, at 812-876-9600 extension 2828. Parent and community partnership fuels our students’ success!
