RESULTS

Last night the volleyball team played hard against Tri North. The 7th grade team fought hard but came up short by only 2 points in the third set. Braylin Bentley had 5 kills, 3 aces, and 24 assists. Skylynn Norris had 4 aces, 2 kills, and 9 digs. The 8th grade also had to fight hard, but finished with a win! Cora Jones led the team with 5 aces, 8 digs, 30 assists, and 2 kills and Ella Henry added 2 aces, 3 digs, and 6 kills! Great job ladies!

The 8th grade football team fell to North Clay last night with a score of 6-22. The Colts will be back at home for their 8th grade night next Thursday.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

EJHS is trialing an incentive program to reward students who arrive at class on time and are prepared to learn. Passing periods, Regulation Break, and Lunch are all available times for you to meet your needs and get ready for your next class. Students who arrive to class on time and prepared will be in the drawing to win a reward at the end of the week. Our first trial week begins now! Prizes will be drawn during lunch on Friday.

The Book Fair: The book fair ends next Friday and you don’t want to miss it. Come to the library any time during school hours. Hundreds of book options! Choose the authors, characters, and series YOU love.

Dodge and Donate 2023: Today is our last official day of Dodge and Donate -make sure to bring your money in today or Monday! We are behind last year’s total at this point you can no longer play dodgeball if you have not donated! Click the link for more information. EJHS Fall Flu and Covid Clinic: This will be on Wednesday, October 4th. Please have the completed forms returned to the EJHS Health Office no later than September 18th. If you need a paper copy contact the EJHS Health Office.

Kirkwood Yearbook Pictures: Don’t fret if you didn’t pre-order pictures, an online link will be emailed out for you to order pictures after proofs have been released. If you missed getting your picture taken, a make-up day will be scheduled soon.

Washington DC Trip: Our annual Washington DC trip planning is well underway! Open to all EJHS 7th and 8th grade students, the dates are 6/6/2024-6/10/2024.  There are still some seats left. Information is available through our personalized website for Trip 208611 and you can contact Ms. Jones at mjones@rbbschools.net.

Pizza X POP Tabs: Love Pizza X? Love EJHS? Eat pizza from Pizza X and save the Proof-Of-Purchase (POP) tabs from the pizza boxes. Ask your friends and family to save them as well. Each Proof-Of-Purchase tab is worth 25 cents. Bring your tabs to the Main Office anytime throughout the year.

Not Feeling Well: Students if you’re not feeling well report to the Health Office. The Health Aide will contact your parent if you need to go home. By-passing the Health Office and contacting your parent yourself will be an unexcused absence. Parents, if your student contacts you, please refer them to the Health Office.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Dungeons & Dragons:  EJHS is now hosting a Dungeons & Dragons club! For anyone interested in participating, there will be an initial meeting TODAY from 2:30-4:00 in room 113, with Mr. Powell.

Art Club: Art Club will have its first meeting after school today in the art room, room 216, with Mrs. Millick. Please have your ride pick you up at door 1 at 3:30. Any EJHS student is welcome to join our meetings and may drop in at any point in the school year. You can join the Art Club Google Classroom with code awn22v2. 

Design Lab Club: The Design Lab Club will start next week.  Any students who are interested can sign up by scanning the code on the fliers or clicking the online link. Here is the link: https://forms.gle/GnQPf3D8Esf3waFq8

Softball: Attention EJHS Lady Colts grades 6-8!  Are you interested in trying out for the EJHS softball team in the spring?  Maybe just want to work on your skills?  This fall, Coach Schooling and Coach Ayer will be hosting conditioning for softball on Mondays after school, from 2:30-3:45 starting today through mid-November, weather permitting.  Girls who plan to come out need to have a physical on file, bring their own mitt, and be dressed to practice in the field! We look forward to getting back out there! See Coach Ayer in room 208 with any questions!

6th Grade Girls’ Basketball: Open gyms will be on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6-7:30 in the Multi-Purpose Room.  The 22nd is the final one. Tryouts will be held on October 4th and 5th from 6-7:30 pm in the main gym. You must have an athletic physical form on file and in FinalForms dated after April 1, 2023, in order to participate.

ATHLETICS INFORMATION

EJHS Student-Athlete of the Week: The Edgewood Junior High School student-athlete of the week is Ryne Klinger.  Ryne was nominated by Coach Brookman as a member of the Boys Tennis team.  Along with being a great student, Ryne was nominated for his excellent attitude at practice, his hard work, and the way he encourages his teammates.  He is an excellent leader on and off the court.  Great job, Ryne!

Athletic Physicals: Student-athletes must have a completed physical before they may participate in tryouts or practice. A physical dated after April 1 is good for the entire school year. We encourage parents to take advantage of the athletic physical night at Edgewood High School each spring in order to have their student-athlete prepared for any activity they choose to participate in for the following school year. FinalForms: All physicals are now completed through FinalForms. All athletes MUST be registered on FinalForms. Register HERE

Transportation Fees: Each student-athlete will be required to pay a $30 transportation fee for each sport in which he/she participates. Make payments on Eventlink. Under contact information, please enter your athlete’s name and the sport you are paying for. for example “John Doe – Cross Country.” If you are paying for more than one athlete, please purchase them separately.

Event Tickets: We are cashless. We will have a card reader for bank and credit cards at the gate. Or you can pre-purchase tickets on Eventlink HERE.

  • Gate Ticket Prices: $5 per person or $15 per family
  • EJHS All Sports Season Passes: Each pass is good for admission to all home EJHS athletic events excluding County and WIC tournaments. Non-Transferable – Edgewood High School events are not covered by this pass.
    • 2023-2024 Family Pass (Immediate Family Only) – $100
    • 2023-2024 Adult Pass – $40
    • 2023-2024 Student/Child Pass – $20
    • 2023-2024 Senior Pass – $20
