It’s time for our annual Poetry Underground event! Be entertained by our emcee, the magnificent Mr. Maguiness, as he reads some of his favorite poetry. Read your own poetry or someone else’s, or simply enjoy listening to others. This free event will take place on Wednesday, May 8, right after school until 4:00, in the Green Room underneath the auditorium stage. See flyers on the library doors for more details. Refreshments will be served, and everything is free. This event is only for EHS students.

Edgewood Theatre Arts is excited to present “Murder in the Knife Room”, a comedy murder mystery by Jonathan Rand.
One murder and twenty three suspects. Who committed this heinous act? Could it be Respected General? What about Wealthy Dowager? Or maybe it was Santa Claus. The mystery unfolds as Inexplicably Omniscient Inspector takes on the most thrilling and baffling murder case in the history of thrilling and baffling murder cases.
Performances: April 19, & 20 at 7:00 PM
$5 Students and Senior Citizens
$8 General Admission

The Monroe County Health Department is hosting a vaccine clinic for EHS students on May 7th.

Color Guard auditions for the Marching Mustangs will take place on April 30th and May 2nd at EHS in the gymnasium from 5-7pm. The Coffee Corral is hiring for the 2024-25 school year! We will be hiring employees for positions during school, after school hours, as well as for management positions. Edgewood High School will be hosting the 2024 Physical Night for anyone interested in playing sports for the 2024-2025 school year on Monday, May 13th from 6:00 – 9:00 in the EHS Gymnasium. This will be for any student entering grades 6-12.
We are excited to expand our physicals night with more doctors and stations to help make this a smoother, more efficient process while also allowing you to select a time slot that will best fit your needs for the evening.
Here are a few items that are important to know before May 13th.
1) Registration – The cost of the physical is $25 and can be purchased through EventLink to complete your registration. We are only taking payment via EventLink for this event so paying ahead of time is important. Edgewood Physical

Select the “Physicals Night at Edgewood High School”.
2) Final Forms – We have partnered with Final Forms (see letter) to create a better system in handling athletic physicals and creating a student safety tool for our coaches, athletic trainers, and athletic administrators. For 2024-2025 school year and beyond all athletes will be required to have a Final Forms account.
So what do I need to do before the EHS Physicals Night?
– If you HAVE Final Forms, you should sign in and update your information for your athlete.
– If you DO NOT have Final Forms, follow the Parent Playbook to set up your account.
Please have this completed before you come in for our EHS Physical Night on May 13th!

This month’s Book Club theme is “Flashback Fiction.” The two choices are The Lightning Thief and Holes. If you’d like to go down memory lane and read one (or both) of these books, come on into the library and check it out. Book Club is open to all EHS students! We will meet to discuss each book during PlusTime at the end of the month. See flyers in the library for more details.
Also in the library, we have a special display in honor of National Poetry Month. Come in and make your own Blackout Poem! It’s easy and fun, so bring a friend and create some poems together. And look for details coming soon about our annual Poetry Underground event!
