RESULTS
The baseball teams took on Monrovia last night and came away with 2 wins.
In the 7th grade game, Cooper Myers pitched a complete game, giving up 2 hits and striking out 13. Jameson Ward, Izak David, and Jackson Sturgis all had multiple hits. The 7th-grade team won the game 7-2.
In the 8th grade game, Nash Waterford pitched a complete game, giving up 2 hits and striking out 9. Eli Lirot had 2 hits for the Colts. Lirot and Darren Grubb scored the Colt’s only runs. The 8th grade team won a close game 2-1.

The softball girls ended their season last night with a double win against Brown County! Karson Krebbs pitched a great game to start the night off and hit 3 doubles to lead the team to a 5-2 victory. Averi Krebbs led the charge for the B team, striking out 9, and winning with a score of 14-2. Girls with hits on the night included Alainah Peter, Braylin Bentley, Karson Krebbs, Eden Norton, Baylee Clark, Laina Chandler, Morgan Morris, Khloee Wykoff hit a triple, and Story Heckman drove in 4 runs on two hits, including an in-the-park homerun! The girls finished 14-9 on the season. Great job girls!

The girls tennis team played their last match of the season against Lighthouse Christian Academy last night. Our varsity team won 5-0 with wins coming from Cora Jones, Meg Wilson, Ella Johnson, and the doubles duos of Poppy Bishop/Audrey Gudmundson, and Haley Hamilton/Ava Lilley. Nice job ladies and way to finish off the season!
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Did you know that our school has checked out over 12,000 books this school year? We still have 458 books that have not been returned. That equals over $6,000 in fines if they are not returned. There are only 6 days left to turn your books in, so look in your locker, in your car, under your bed, look everywhere, and find your overdue books!

Yearbooks will be handed out on Monday, 5/20 during Homeroom. Extras will be available in the office. You should bring $25 (check or exact change) after dispersal if you want to buy one, but there is no guarantee any will be left by the time they get here (online presales were Jan-May).

All students interested in joining the EJHS Robotics Team are welcome to attend any or all practices this week. Practice will take place today – Friday from 2:30 pm to 4 pm in room 221. If you have any questions contact Mrs. Grimes or Mrs. Hanson.

A list of this year’s Superintendent’s Award recipients has been posted on green paper on the library doors and in the cafeteria. To receive this award, you must have for the first three nine-week grading periods, no nine-week grade below an A- and can have no final first-semester grade below an A-. If you believe you should receive this award, be sure to check this list. If you are not on the list but think you should be, see Mrs. Ashba in the front office.

2024-2025 Volleyball Tryouts: Tryouts for next year’s volleyball team will be held this Friday, May 17th after school in the Multi-Purpose Room for any current 6th or 7th grade interested in trying out. You must have an athletic physical form on file and in FinalForms, to participate.

EHS Girls’ Soccer Information: For any current 7th and 8th Grade girl interested, summer practices for high school girls’ soccer will start in June. ATHLETICS INFORMATION
Athletic Physicals: Student-athletes must have a completed physical before they may participate in tryouts or practice. A physical dated after April 1 is good for the entire school year. We encourage parents to take advantage of the athletic physical night at Edgewood High School each spring in order to have their student-athletes prepared for any activity they choose to participate in for the following school year. Transportation Fees: Each student-athlete must pay a $30 transportation fee for each sport in which he/she participates. Make payments on Eventlink. If you haven’t already created one, it will require you to create an account. Creating an account will also give you quick access to schedules and purchase tickets to upcoming events.

Not Feeling Well: Students, if you’re not feeling well, report to the Health Office. The Health Aide will contact your parent if you need to go home. By-passing the Health Office and contacting your parent yourself will be an unexcused absence. Parents, if your student contacts you, please refer them to the Health Office.

Chromebooks/Chargers: If you have any issues or damage to your Chromebook please see Ms. Edgeman in the Media Center. Due to the high demand and lack of supply, we will no longer be able to provide students with a loaner charger during school hours. See Ms. Edgeman if you need to purchase a new charger.
