GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Today is the final day to request a schedule change for the 24-25 school year. All changes will be made by the end of the week. Students who have made a request should check their RBB email for a response from Mrs. Schlemmer or Mrs. Straw.
Dodge and Donate is coming! This year we will start with the donation collection – envelopes will be sent home on Friday to collect donations. This year with your donations you can earn entry into the raffle for gift cards, Edgewood swag, pit vipers, etc., an Edgewood Tumbler, a sweatshirt, and even Edgewood slides or Crocs! Dodgeball tournaments will begin in September. More info to follow!
Student Photographs, Videos, and/or Sound Recordings Opt-Out: Last year we moved to students having to OPT OUT of having their photo taken. This means all students are allowed to have their photo taken unless their parent/guardian fills out the attached form and brings it back to the office.
School Picture Day: Monday, August 19. This year we will be utilizing Sheldon Pictures for our school directory and yearbook pictures. There will be more information coming to you before pictures on the 19th of August. Feel free to check out their website at www.Sheldon.net.
All Sports Media Day: Thursday, August 15. We are excited to partner with Focus812 as your athlete’s photographer. Please see the flyer for more information.
Washington DC Parent Meeting: SAVE THE DATE! The 2025 Washington DC Parent Meeting will be held on 8/27 in the Multi-Purpose Room at 6:15. Enter through door 16. Flyers will go out this week. Please contact Marsi Jones at mjones@rbbschools.net with any preliminary questions or save them for the meeting. All questions will be answered then.
Meet the Teacher Night: Join us for Meet the Teacher Night on August 21, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This event is a wonderful chance to meet your child’s teachers, explore the classrooms, and gain valuable information needed for your students’ success this year.
Edgewood Dollars for Scholars 5K Run/Walk: The Edgewood Dollars for Scholars (DFS) 5K Run/Walk is less than a month away! Dungeons and Dragons Club Call Out: The club will meet next Friday, August 16th in room 113 after school from 2:30-3:30 pm for any students interested. See Mr. Powell if you have any questions.
Robotics Team: EJHS Robotics is gearing up for a great 2024 2025 season and we need you on our team! Anyone interested in robotics is invited to participate in any of our practices during August. We meet Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. in room 221. Pick-up is from door 9 at or before 4 p.m. We encourage our team members to play sports, play in the band, or do show choir. We happily work around those schedules. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Grimes or Mrs. Hanson.
Edgewood Cadet Color Guard Callout: The Edgewood Cadet Color Guard will be hosting auditions on Friday, August 23rd from 5:30-7:30 at EJHS! Grades 5-8 are welcome to join and begin learning dance and flag! Please show up with comfortable athletic shoes and attire. We hope to see you there!
ATHLETICS INFORMATION
Athletic Physicals: Student-athletes must have a completed physical before they may participate in tryouts or practice. A physical dated after April 1 is good for the entire next school year. We encourage parents to take advantage of the athletic physical night at Edgewood High School each spring in order to have their student-athlete prepared for any activity they choose to participate in for the following school year. FinalForms: All physicals are now completed through FinalForms. All athletes MUST be registered on FinalForms. Register HERE
Transportation Fees: Each student-athlete will be required to pay a $35 transportation fee for each sport in which he/she participates. Make payments on Eventlink HERE.
Event Tickets: We are cashless. We will have a card reader for bank and credit cards at the gate. Or you can pre-purchase tickets on Eventlink HERE.

COUNSELING DEPARTMENT
The final day to request a schedule change for the school year is Tuesday, August 13th. Counselors will make all updates in Harmony by the end of the day on Friday, August 18th. Many elective classes are currently filled, but we will look into all schedule change requests made by the due date. The only requests that will not be considered are requests for a specific teacher, swapping the same class for a different period, or requests to be with friends. Students will be notified by email if their schedule change request is possible.
Students who would like to request to see their counselor should complete this Google form: EJHS Counselor Sign up. The form should only be completed using the student’s RBB email.
