GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Senior Shirts being available to pick up in the cafeteria starting TODAY, March 30 through the rest of the week. Seniors who have not paid should plan to bring check or cash to pay at the time of pick-up.

Congratulations to Landen Chaudion on being named the FFA District 11 Winner with his Fruit Production Proficiency and his Star Farmer Application! Both of his applications are moving on to the second round of judging.

This week’s Ted Talk is about the science of laughing: Did you know that you’re 30 times more likely to laugh if you’re with somebody else than if you’re alone? Cognitive neuroscientist Sophie Scott shares this and other surprising facts about laughter in this fast-paced, action-packed and, yes, hilarious dash through the science of cracking up.

COUNSELING DEPARTMENT

Cook Group will award two or three Ivy Tech scholarships to EHS seniors.  One scholarship will be worth $5,000.  In addition, a second $5,000 scholarship, or two $2,500 scholarships, will be awarded.  This was recently added to the Dollars for Scholars scholarships.  Apply at  http://www.edgewood.dollarsforscholars.org  .  The deadline to apply is April 19.

Students who would like to request to see their counselor, should complete this Google form: Request to See Your Counselor. The form should only be completed using the student’s RBB email.


EXTENDED OPPORTUNITIES

Cutters Soccer is in need of trainers during the following times:
Monday evenings – U8 Boys (aka 6-8 yr olds) from 6-7:00PM
Saturday mornings – U5 Coed (3-4 yr olds) from 9:15-10:00AM
Saturday mornings – U5 Coed (3-4 yr olds) from 10:15-11:00AM
Saturday mornings – U6 Coed (4-6 yr olds) from 11:15AM-12:15PM
All sessions happen at Karst Park. U8 begins on 3/29 (today), U6 starts on 4/3, and U5 starts on 4/24. All divisions end on 5/22/2021. Trainers make $20/hour so you could make up to $80 some weeks! Email Kristina Simmonds at community@cutterssoccer.org  if interested.

Sylvan Learning Center is having another SAT Test Prep Course.   It starts Sunday, April 18, and will prepare students fully for the June 5 exam.  The cost, including the textbooks and one-year software license is $295.   Normally the cost is $799.

The City of Bloomington is looking for lifeguards for the summer. If you are at least 15 years of age or already lifeguard certified and would like to be considered for a position please fill out an application by going to https://bloomington.in.gov/parks/employment/lifeguard-bryan-park-pool-and-mills-pool.
