GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
JUNIORS: All juniors will be taking the SAT this week. While the actual test will be Thursday, juniors must also complete what is called a pre-administration session which will take place Wednesday during homeroom. Wednesday morning, juniors need to report to homeroom as usual for attendance. You will then be dismissed to your testing room. Wednesday’s pre-administration session will take the full hour of homeroom. Testing room assignments have been posted outside the office door and on the wall across from the cafeteria. Be sure to check this so you know where to go for Wednesday’s pre-administration session.
On Thursday, the day of the actual SAT, we will be starting the day with homeroom. Juniors will report to their homeroom Thursday for attendance and will be dismissed at 7:45 to go to their testing room.
A few important things regarding Thursday’s SAT:
You are not to bring phones or smart watches into the testing room. Leave these in your car or in your locker. You will be testing on your Chromebook and you will need your calculator so be sure to bring these but do not bring any electronic device into the testing room other than your Chromebook and your calculator.
Be sure to fully charge your Chromebook Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening. Thursday’s test takes a good part of the day so it is important that your Chromebook is fully charged.
Thursday, you will be in the testing room until about 12:20. If you have testing accommodations and get extended time, you will be in the testing room until about 2:00. You will not have lunch until after the test so plan accordingly. You will have several short breaks during the test. You can bring a water bottle and you can bring snacks but you can only eat or drink water during the breaks. For students who get extended time and will be testing until 2:00, we will provide a snack during one of the breaks; however, you may still want to bring your own snacks.
