RESULTS

Congratulations to Felicia Bolander for winning the Indiana state Knight Essay Contest, a contest sponsored by the Sons of the American Revolution. Her winning essay was about the flaws in the Articles of Confederation and explained why the Constitution was necessary to replace it. Felicia’s essay now advances to the national contest. Good luck Felicia!

Tutoring: Edgewood’s Tutoring Site, sponsored by NHS, offers tutoring in Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Computer Science, and Choir. Students will be able to simply submit their questions on a Google Form and NHS tutors will respond. The forms, along with more information, can be found at this link.

MCPL Math Homework Help For Teens: The Monroe County Public Library Downtown Branch offers free homework help on Mondays from 7-8:30 PM. See the flyer for more details.

Student Drivers: All students who plan to drive to school must have a completed Parking Permit Registration on file with the school even if the car has been previously registered by another EHS student/sibling and already has a parking tag. Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Lacrosse: Lacrosse has started official practices. Come to the turf on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5:30-7:30pm to try out a new sport! Email Coach Mary (mellis@rbbschools.net) with questions.

Unified Track: Any students interested in learning more about the Unified Track team, please fill out the following form by Monday, March 7. Practice begins on Tuesday, March 22. If you have any questions, please stop by Mr. Tucker’s room. https://forms.gle/F9V7YYocU9KXGUxs5

Softball: Softball practice has begun and will continue every Monday and Wednesday from 6 to 8.  Meet in the balcony of the gym.  See Coach Hammett if you have any questions.

Girls Tennis: If you are interested in joining the Girls Tennis Team, please fill out this form ( https://forms.gle/G1SXsreSdF4YErS28 ). We will be having conditioning on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4 starting on January 25th! Academic Bowl: “Canada: Our Neighbor to the North” An interesting topic, eh? If you think it would be fun to be a part of a team where you learn about music, art, stories, poetry, history, science, and math, then Academic Super Bowl is for you. We’re currently recruiting team members–all are welcome. If interested, contact Mrs. Van Allen in the library or one of the following teachers: Mr. Walter,  Mrs. Mathias, Mr. Axsiom, Mrs. Boivert-Storey, and Ms. Voorheis.

COUNSELING DEPARTMENT/SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Students who would like to request to see their counselor, should complete this Google form: Request to See Your Counselor. The form should only be completed using the student’s RBB email.

Seniors:  The application for the Don and Bev Cowden Scholarship is now available.  This is a $4,000 scholarship that will be awarded to one EHS senior.  Mr. Faust emailed information and the application to all seniors.  You can also pick up  information and the application from Mrs. Waterford in the Guidance Office.  Be sure to check your school email on a regular basis as more scholarship information is coming.

Senior girls going to Indiana State University:  Be sure to see the email from Mr. Faust sent last night regarding the $500 Mirohim Saft Indiana State scholarship.

Junior Girls:  Mr. Faust sent an email to all junior girls who rank in the upper half of the class with information about Hoosier Girls State which is a week-long summer program.  If you are interested in learning about Girls State, be sure to see this email and reply if you wish to attend this week’s informational meeting.

Seniors with a Stinesville connection:  The Stinesville High School Alumni Association will award two EHS seniors scholarships expected to be in the amount of $4,000 each.  See this morning’s email from Mr. Faust for details and a link to the application.  Deadline to apply is March 21.
