RESULTS:
Academic Super Bowl: The Academic Super Bowl team did a great job at Tuesday night’s regional meet. Our science team was only 1 point and our English team only 2 points from qualifying for the state competition. The fine arts and social studies teams also did very well. The BIG NEWS is that our math team DID qualify to go to the state level on May 6! In fact, based on Tuesday night’s score, our math team–consisting of Felicia Bolander, Candace Rosemeier, Bailey Evans, and Skyler Fortune–is currently ranked # 1 in the state! Other members of the academic bowl team are Jenna Wright, Cassie Fields, Addison Keller, Jordan Martindale, Jonah Grimes, Caleb Walcott, Harrison Stearns, Molly Adams, and Nathan Reyes. Congratulations on doing so well at the meet, and GOOD LUCK to the math team at State!
Trivia Contest: The Team Trivia Contest in the library was a big hit! The contest was so close that three tie-breaker rules were needed to determine the winner. The 2023 Champion team, called “Game World Alumni + Matt and Allie,” consisted of Matt Williams, Allie Clampitt, and Cullen Light. Coming in a close second was the team, “Ice, Ice, Baby,” consisting of Avery Dunham, Mae Armstrong, Hannah Clark, and Dakota Medley. Third place went to the “Girlbosses” team with Ryan Anderson, Leighland Arney, and Harrison Stearns. Thanks to the teams that participated and the audiences who cheered them on.
Softball: Softball drops WIC game 7_3. The Lady Mustangs ran into a tough Sullivan team and took a defeat 7-3. Having 2 hits each were Piper Stephens, Alayna Flynn and Ally Bland.
