RESULTS
The first-ever Edgewood fishing team completed 2 tournaments this weekend. They set a record by snagging a 3.71-pound Bass caught by Aidan Hawkins. The team dealt with cold weather, and windy conditions. But everyone fished till the last minute. Great job team!!!

Attention, all student writers and artists: AESOP magazine is currently taking submissions of poetry, short fiction, creative essays/nonfiction, black-and-white 2D artwork, and scripts. To submit your work, please print a copy and place it in one of the designated submission folders. Remember to attach a cover sheet to your work. The submissions will be accepted until April 26th. We would love to see your submission in the magazine! Talk to your English or Art teacher if you have any questions.

It’s time for our annual Poetry Underground event! Be entertained by our emcee, the magnificent Mr. Maguiness, as he reads some of his favorite poetry. Read your own poetry or someone else’s, or simply enjoy listening to others. This free event will take place on Wednesday, May 8, right after school until 4:00, in the Green Room underneath the auditorium stage. See flyers on the library doors for more details. Refreshments will be served, and everything is free. This event is only for EHS students.

The Monroe County Health Department is hosting a vaccine clinic for EHS students on May 7th.

Color Guard auditions for the Marching Mustangs will take place on April 30th and May 2nd at EHS in the gymnasium from 5-7pm. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or new to the art, we welcome you to join us in creating captivating performances! Why join? Explore your creativity through dance, movement, and visual performance. Forge lasting friendships and be a part of a supportive team environment. Showcase your talent at exciting events, halftime shows and competitions!

Edgewood High School will be hosting the 2024 Physical Night for anyone interested in playing sports for the 2024-2025 school year on Monday, May 13th from 6:00 – 9:00 in the EHS Gymnasium. This will be for any student entering grades 6-12.
We are excited to expand our physicals night with more doctors and stations to help make this a smoother, more efficient process while also allowing you to select a time slot that will best fit your needs for the evening.
Here are a few items that are important to know before May 13th.
1) Registration – The cost of the physical is $25 and can be purchased through EventLink to complete your registration. We are only taking payment via EventLink for this event so paying ahead of time is important. Edgewood Physical

Select the “Physicals Night at Edgewood High School”.
2) Final Forms – We have partnered with Final Forms (see letter) to create a better system in handling athletic physicals and creating a student safety tool for our coaches, athletic trainers, and athletic administrators. For 2024-2025 school year and beyond all athletes will be required to have a Final Forms account.
So what do I need to do before the EHS Physicals Night?
– If you HAVE Final Forms, you should sign in and update your information for your athlete.
– If you DO NOT have Final Forms, follow the Parent Playbook to set up your account.
Please have this completed before you come in for our EHS Physical Night on May 13th!

This month’s Book Club theme is “Flashback Fiction.” The two choices are The Lightning Thief and Holes. If you’d like to go down memory lane and read one (or both) of these books, come on into the library and check it out. Book Club is open to all EHS students! We will meet to discuss each book during PlusTime at the end of the month. See flyers in the library for more details.
Also in the library, we have a special display in honor of National Poetry Month. Come in and make your own Blackout Poem! It’s easy and fun, so bring a friend and create some poems together. And look for details coming soon about our annual Poetry Underground event!
