OUR SHOP DETAILS

– Store Open From: August 19 – September 1, 2022

*There is a change to Student Driver Registration: All students who plan to drive to school must have a Parking Permit Registration on file with the school even if the car has been previously registered by another EHS student/sibling and already has a parking tag. Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver. Parents can find and fill out this form in Harmony Family Access with the registration paperwork. Any student who has already received a tag for a car registered to them after filling out the old Google Form, does not need to redo the form in Harmony.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form in Harmony, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.

Chromebook Protection: Parents/Guardians, use this link to sign up for the chromebook protection plan. It is HIGHLY recommended. The deadline is September 30.

2021-2022 Yearbooks: Students who ordered last year’s yearbook and have not yet pick it up should check with Mr. Axsiom in room A116. Yearbooks not picked up by September 1st may be made available to other buyers.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Learning Communities: There’s something totally NEW starting in the library starting this Wednesday! Instead of TED Talk Thursdays, we are now going to meet on Wednesdays at lunch, and there will be no TED Talk. This Wednesday will kick off a new program that promotes exploring learning communities–in other words, exciting topics that you might want to know more about and meet others who have similar interests. Throughout the year, EHS staff and students will be sharing some of their interests, and you can find out about topics and hobbies you may want to pursue in a learning community here at school, in the community, or online. First topic: the art of making balloon animals! Come help build a balloon display for the library. Bring your lunch! Bring a friend!

Class Clash: It’s that time again! This year’s Homecoming game is on September 23rd against Indian Creek. Class Clash will take place on Wednesday, September 21st starting at 6:00 PM. This traditional Edgewood event gives each class an opportunity to compete with each other in a variety of fun games and challenges.

National Honor Society: NHS will meet on the first Thursday of each month in the auditorium from 7-7:15 AM. The first meeting will be September 1.

Book Club: All are invited to join the Book Club this month. Come to the library to check out this month’s pick: With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo. This realistic fiction book tells of Emoni Santiago, a teen mom who has to balance her school life with caring for her daughter and her abuela. Her dream is to become a chef, and she adds a little something magical to everything she cooks. We will meet to discuss the book on Friday, September 16.

Writing Club: The Writing Club will meet Mondays (not Wednesdays, as first announced) after school in the library until 3:15. All are welcome!

Gymnastics: Any girl interested in being on the school gymnastics team this year needs to sign up on the list in the athletic office.

EXTENDED OPPORTUNITIES

The Bloomington Sunrise Rotary Club would like to sponsor two students for an RYLA event, which will take place at Bradford Woods this fall. The RYLA program encourages youth to take on leadership roles and learn about the service objectives and programs of the Rotary Club.  Most of the time is spent on interactive outdoor and team building activities, along with interaction with students from other high schools in the southern part of Indiana. This opportunity is open to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.

The application forms and more detailed information are on the Rotary Club district website http://rotary6580.org/rylaphp.php.   You may also see Mrs. Van Allen in the library for contact information for a Rotary Club member who can answer your questions.

Applications must be submitted by Friday, September 23, 2022.
