RESULTS

Last night the boy’s soccer team defeated brown county 4 to 1. Their first win of the season was led by Will Lawson’s 2 goals. Come out and support them this Thursday at home for their next game!

The Girl’s varsity golf finishes in 1st place at South Putnam/Indian Creek. The lady Mustangs won a victory over Indian Creek on the 5th score tiebreaker. Way to go Megan Hancock! Her score was better than the Indian Creek 5th player that helped the Lady Mustangs win. Amara Hanson was the medalist.

Last night the boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Mustang Invite at home.

The boys put 7 in the top 20 including Davin Norris in 19th, Carson Sigman in 18th, Tucker McCarty in 10th, Josh Kohne in 6th, Landen Beauchamp in 5th, Jackson Klinger in 3rd, and Zane Meyer in 1st. They placed first as a team.
The girls also put 7 in the top 20 including Avery Rayl in 17th, Ryleigh Burnett in 14th, Nayeli Young in 12th, Ellie Vagedas in 6th, Ally Bland in 4th, Riley Haskett in 3rd, and Hannah Crain in 2nd. They also placed first as a team.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Curious Wednesday: This week we will have some old game systems in the library. Bring your lunch in and join the fun. We will take turns playing old-school games and cheering each other on. More informational Curious Wednesday topics coming up soon!

There will be a Wrestling call-out meeting next week on Tuesday, September 5th for both Boys and Girls. Anyone who is interested in wrestling that isn’t in any other sport will meet in the wrestling room at 2:45pm.

The boys lacrosse team will begin fall practices today, August, 30, from 6:30-8pm on the soccer fields. New players are welcome and encouraged – need nothing but a pair of athletic shoes! Contact Coach Mary for more information at mellis@rbbschools.net.

All are invited to join the Book Club this month. This month’s pick is The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. The main character, Avery, finds herself inheriting a fortune but has to solve dangerous riddles to keep it. This mystery is so popular that a new TV series is planned to come out soon. See Mrs. Van Allen in the library for details and to check out your copy. There is also a flier on the library bulletin board. First meeting will take place September 22.

LAST CALL-OUT MEETING FOR STUDENTS/PARENTS – COSTA RICA 2024

All students who are interested in traveling to Costa Rica in June 2024, please plan on attending a “Parent Meeting” today, August 30th in the library at 7pm.  If you cannot make it, please email Mrs. Clay at bclay@rbbschools.net or Mrs. Boisvert-Storey at cboisvert@rbbschools.net

Tuesday, Sept 5th after school in the cafeteria the Edgewood bowling team will be holding a callout/informational meeting. All students of any skill level are welcome to learn more about joining the team.

Attention all Girl and Boy Swimmers and Divers!!  Coach Kohne is having a brief callout meeting immediately after school today, August 30th, in his classroom. We will be discussing preseason conditioning, team suits, gear, and the upcoming season.  ANYONE interested please come check it out. If you cannot attend, please stop by and see Coach Kohne.

 

If you are planning on playing boys basketball and you are not involved in a fall sport you need to be attending after-school weights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. These workouts begin at 2:45 and conclude at 4 pm.

Any boy who is in a fall sport and wants to try out for basketball needs to see Mr. Wadsworth in the cafeteria during lunch. He can give you information regarding equipment, tryouts, etc.

 

The last day to purchase Homecoming shirts is today! The shirts will be $15 (cash or check) and will allow you to get into Class Clash on September 13th for free. You can also buy a shirt in Miss Brookman’s room (E108).”

Mark your calendars! The Edgewood Dollars for Scholars (DFS) 5K Run/Walk is Saturday, September 9th at 8:30 AM, starting behind EIS. In May 2023, Edgewood DFS awarded a record-breaking $59,500 to Edgewood seniors. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so please consider coming out to run/walk and help raise scholarship money for Edgewood seniors!!

Chromebooks: Any issues, repairs, etc. also need to go to the Media Center.

COUNSELING DEPARTMENT/SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Students who would like to request to see their counselor should complete this Google form: Request to See Your Counselor. The form should only be completed using the student’s RBB email. Students may not request schedule changes based on teacher or period preference.
