GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Favorite Mask Days! A year ago wearing a mask to school might have landed you in the principal’s office but times have changed! Our administrators are now asking you to show off your favorite (school appropriate) mask this Thursday and Friday. Our yearbook staffers have been looking for some great photo ops so let’s give them something fun to capture!
Due to the hybrid schedule, EHS Club Pictures are scheduled on two days. The blue team club members were photographed last week and the orange team club members have pictures TODAY, February 3. Here is the detailed schedule for the pictures.
Students who have Chromebook issues should email RBB tech support at itsupport@rbbschools.net.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Girls interested in playing on the school softball team who are not already on the email list need to contact Coach Hammett. Send him an email at mhammett@rbbschools.net Workouts will be starting next week.
Congratulations Mustang wrestling team! The team had a great day at the Bloomington North Sectional taking 3rd place! Sectional Champions include Cash Turner, Lane Deckard and Landon Bell. Also advancing to the Regional are Rylie Austin, Daniel Wilson, Reece Novak, Marley Klick and Chris Davis. Rylie is Edgewood High School’s first female wrestler to advance to the Regional.
This week there will be two Ted Talks offered. First, Amanda Gorman — the youngest inaugural poet in US history — will discuss why poetry is for everyone, not just for elitists. Poetry is for everyone, she says, and at its core it’s all about connection and collaboration. In this fierce talk and performance, she explains why poetry is inherently political, pays homage to her honorary ancestors and stresses the value of speaking out despite your fears. Next, Michelle Obama will speak about the importance of education and the incredible places it can take you. She states, “by getting a good education, you too can control your own destiny. If you want to know the reason why I’m standing here, it’s because of education.”
