GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Seniors: now is the time to submit your senior quote for this year’s yearbook.  Check your school email for a link to the senior-quote form.  Please respond by this Friday, January 14th!

Freshmen who are to meet with Mr. Faust today to go over next year’s classes – your meeting is being postponed until the first week of February.  Mr. Faust will email you with a new meeting day and time.

TED Talk Thursday will return this Thursday, January 13. Come on into the media center at lunch for a short video and a discussion. The topic will be in next week’s announcements.

Yearbook: Don’t forget to order your yearbook by the end of the first semester! Yearbooks are currently $55, but prices will increase to $65 after Friday, December 17th. Go to JostensYearbooks.com to order!

Seniors: If you did not turn in your cap and gown order form last week, please visit https://www.herffjones.com/schools/highschool/13001640000/ to order. Prices will increase as time goes on.

Tutoring: Edgewood’s Tutoring Site, sponsored by NHS, offers tutoring in Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Computer Science, and Choir. Students will be able to simply submit their questions on a Google Form and NHS tutors will respond. The forms, along with more information, can be found at this link.

MCPL Math Homework Help For Teens: The Monroe County Public Library Downtown Branch offers free homework help on Mondays from 7-8:30 PM. See the flyer for more details.

Attention students returning from quarantine. Remember that you will need to eat lunch in the gym for four days upon returning to school. You MUST check in with Ms. Dirk in the gym each day at lunch. Students who do not will be assigned detention.

Student Drivers: All students who plan to drive to school must have a completed Parking Permit Registration on file with the school even if the car has been previously registered by another EHS student/sibling and already has a parking tag. Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Girls Tennis: If you are interested in joining the Girls Tennis Team, please fill out this form ( https://forms.gle/G1SXsreSdF4YErS28 ). We will be having conditioning on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4 starting on January 25th! For any questions, you can talk to Miss Brookman in room E108 or through email at kbrookman@rbbschools.net.

Track and field conditioning will resume Monday, January 10th. We will meet on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. 2:45-4:15pm. Please be prepared for indoor or outdoor practices.

Theater Auditions: Auditions for two second semester productions, “Old Time Radio Show” & “Going Places?” will take place in the EHS Auditorium on the following days and times:

  • Tuesday, January 11 (6:00-8:00)
  • Wednesday, January 12 (2:35-4:30)
  • Thursday, January 13 (6:00-8:00)
  • Friday, January 14 (2:35-4:30)

 (You only need to be present at one of the above dates)

The performance for “Old Time Radio Show” will be February 25

Performances for “Going Places?” will be April 28, 29, & 30

Academic Bowl: “Canada: Our Neighbor to the North” An interesting topic, eh? If you think it would be fun to be a part of a team where you learn about music, art, stories, poetry, history, science, and math, then Academic Super Bowl is for you. We’re currently recruiting team members–all are welcome. If interested, contact Mrs. Van Allen in the library or one of the following teachers: Mr. Walter,  Mrs. Mathias, Mr. Axsiom, Mrs. Boivert-Storey, and Mr. Dodrill.

The Lacrosse Team will be on the turf for winter practices, Tuesday and Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm. Plan to dress warm and be outside until it drops below freezing temperatures! All you need to do is show up!

Track and Field workouts have begun. Meet in the commons. Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-4:00 pm. Please be prepared for indoor or outside practice. Any questions, reach out to Coach Doering.

Girls Lacrosse: If you’re interested in trying girls lacrosse out, please contact Coach Leslie (Btownpridehslax@gmail.com). No experience is needed. Practice is Mondays at 4-5:30 at North on the turf and Tuesdays at 4:30-5:30 on the B-line starting at the pavilion in the Switchyard Park!

COUNSELING DEPARTMENT

Students who would like to request to see their counselor, should complete this Google form: Request to See Your Counselor. The form should only be completed using the student’s RBB email.

EXTENDED OPPORTUNITIES

The City of Bloomington is currently hiring for the city pools for the Summer of 2022. They are in need of lifeguards, admission attendants, and concession workers. If you would be interested in applying please email Mrs. Sims at shanda.sims@bloomington.in.gov or go to bloomington.in.gov to get an application. 

Edgewood High School is currently looking to fill 4 lifeguard positions, if you are currently a certified lifeguard and would like to work for RBBCSC a few hours after school and some Saturdays please email Mrs. Sims at ssims@rbbschools.net to get an application form. This position is very flexible and Mrs. Sims will work around your academic and sports schedules.
