RESULTS

Boys and Girls Track fell to Whiteland last night in a close contest.  Individual winners for the Mustangs included: Clair Sherfield in the 400, Ella Hayden in the Long Jump, Emma Edwards in the High Jump, the girls 4 by 100 meter relay consisting of Ella Hayden, Ashley Abram, Addison Goerges, and Elie Hosey, the girls 4 by 400 meter Relay consisting of Ella Hayden, Clair Sherfield , Emma Bitner and Emma Edwards and the Girls 4 by 800 meter relay consisting of Emma Edwards, Emma Bitner, Riley Haskett, and Zoe Powell.  One the Boys Side Zach Raake won the 100 meter dash, Mason Law won the 110 and 300 meter Hurdles, Ronan Hancock won the Long Jump, Logan Anderson won the shot put and the boys 4 by 400 meter relay consisting of Zach Raake, Trent Todd, Landen Beauchamp and Justin Stone.  The Mustangs will be back in action this weekend at the Hoosier State Indoor Relays.

We will be selling “Doering Strong” T-shirts in the gym at lunch this week. All proceeds will go to the Doering family. See Mrs. Taft with any questions. 

Seniors:  FAFSA Help Night is tonight from 4:00 to 7:00 in the EHS library.  Seniors and parents can get help completing the FAFSA.  See the email that was sent yesterday with more information.

Reminder to seniors:  The Cowden Scholarship application is due tomorrow.

EHS junior boys ranked in the upper half of their class may qualify to attend Hoosier Boys State.  This is an excellent opportunity to learn leadership skills and to spend a week on a college campus this summer at no cost.  An email was sent to juniors boys who are in the upper half of the class.  Be sure to see this email if interested.

Tutoring: Edgewood’s Tutoring Site, sponsored by NHS, offers tutoring in Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Computer Science, and Choir. Students will be able to simply submit their questions on a Google Form and NHS tutors will respond. The forms, along with more information, can be found at this link.

MCPL Math Homework Help For Teens: The Monroe County Public Library Downtown Branch offers free homework help on Mondays from 7-8:30 PM. See the flyer for more details.

Student Drivers: All students who plan to drive to school must have a completed Parking Permit Registration on file with the school even if the car has been previously registered by another EHS student/sibling and already has a parking tag. Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Open to all students: This Month’s Book Club Selection is Patron Saints of Nothing, a realistic fiction novel by Randy Ribay. When Jay discovers that his Filipino cousin Jun was murdered, he travels to the Philippines to find out the truth, however ugly it may be. Come into the library to check out this book. We will meet Friday, March 25, to discuss the book and have snacks. See Mrs. Van Allen for more details.

Lacrosse: Lacrosse has started official practices. Come to the turf on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5:30-7:30pm to try out a new sport! Email Coach Mary (mellis@rbbschools.net) with questions.

Academic Bowl: “Canada: Our Neighbor to the North” An interesting topic, eh? If you think it would be fun to be a part of a team where you learn about music, art, stories, poetry, history, science, and math, then Academic Super Bowl is for you. We’re currently recruiting team members–all are welcome. If interested, contact Mrs. Van Allen in the library or one of the following teachers: Mr. Walter,  Mrs. Mathias, Mr. Axsiom, Mrs. Boivert-Storey, and Ms. Voorheis.

COUNSELING DEPARTMENT/SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Students who would like to request to see their counselor, should complete this Google form: Request to See Your Counselor. The form should only be completed using the student’s RBB email.

Seniors with a Stinesville connection:  The Stinesville High School Alumni Association will award two EHS seniors scholarships expected to be in the amount of $4,000 each.  See this morning’s email from Mr. Faust for details and a link to the application.  Deadline to apply is March 21.
