Congratulations to JAG student, Chris Oberman for earning 3rd place at the State Career Development Conference held in Indianapolis over Spring Break. He competed against 11 other strong competitors and received his award from Eric Holcomb, the governor of Indiana.

Fall Festival Slogan Contest:
They are looking for a slogan for next year’s Fall Festival. One high school student’s submission will be chosen. The winner will also receive a $25 gift card. Email submissions to k9copev@aol.com. Due by April 28.
Literary Magazine: Listen up, Edgewood students! Did you know that EHS publishes its very own student-produced, student-staffed literary magazine? It’s called AESOP, and it is an equal-opportunity chance for ANY student in ANY grade to get their original creative work reviewed and possibly published. If you like reading and judging others’ creative writing and you’re curious about what being a staffer on the magazine involves, come to a QUICK call-out meeting in Ms. Junken’s room on Tuesday, March 28 right after school to find out more. The All-Nighter is back!

International Student Host Families Needed: Would you like to HOST an international student in your home? We’re looking for host families for some students arriving in August 2023. CIEE Host Families come in all shapes and sizes! And many host families find they develop a relationship that lasts a lifetime! STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Curious Wednesday this week: Poetry Above Ground. Come join us in the library with your lunch this Wednesday as we have a very casual poetry reading. Bring some poems written by yourself or others to share with the group. You can also just enjoy listening to others read poetry. We have a surprise guest reader planned, too, so don’t miss this fun event!
Cheer: Any student interested in trying out for the 2023 – 2024 Cheer Squad, please complete the google form and we will send you all the information via email. We will have a clinic begin Monday, March 27th and Wednesday, March 29th from 5:30 – 7:00. Then on Friday, March 31st the tryout will begin at 6:00. FILL OUT IN GOOGLE FORMS

March Book Club: All are welcome to join our discussion. Our new read is Traci Chee’s We Are Not Free, a historical fiction novel about fourteen Japanese-American teens during WWII. According to the book’s back cover: “In a world that seems determined to hate them, they must rally together as racism and injustice threaten to pull them apart.” Come to the library to check out a copy.
Writing Club: The Writing Club will meet Fridays after school in the library until 3:15. All are welcome!
