GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Environmental Club March Newsletter

Listen up, Edgewood students!  Did you know that EHS publishes its very own student-produced, student-staffed literary magazine?  It’s called AESOP, and it is an equal-opportunity chance for ANY student in ANY grade to get their original creative work reviewed and possibly published.  If you like reading and judging others’ creative writing and you’re want to know more about being a staffer on the magazine, sign up for Ms. Junken’s Plus Time this Friday, March 29!  The meeting will be in Ms. Junken’s room, room A117, across from Mr. Whittemore.

Are you on the hunt for a part-time or full-time job? Good news! The JAG students are teaming up with the Chamber of Commerce to offer an Employment Fair next Tuesday, April 2nd from 9:45 AM to 12 PM in the main Gym. For more information and a list of employers, check out the flyers around school.

Our Jobs for America’s Graduates students offer today’s tip to help you land a job. Remember, if you ever need employability help, stop by our JAG room, E124.

Refresh your resume and make sure to include all work experience including volunteer activities. Highlight clubs, classes, and extracurricular activities that showcase leadership, hard work, and any skills relevant to the job you are applying for.

Our school has the winning student in a Monroe County speech contest Alan Martindale gave a speech for the Rotary Club contest. He won the Monroe County contest, and then went on to place third in the Rotary District competition. His speech impressed the contest judges, and he won several hundred dollars as prizes. Way to go, Alan!
