Softball: The Edgewood softball team defeated North by a score of 16 to 10 in their season opener. Alaina Winzeler had 2 home runs to go along with 5 RBIs. Savannah Monroe also had a dinger to support Jaylen Robinson’s complete game victory.

The EHS Choirs “An Evening of Broadway” Cabaret Night is tonight at 7:00 PM in the EHS Commons. Students will be presenting self-selected Broadway musical songs. The cost is $5 for adults and includes a dessert. Students are free with an ID and they can purchase a dessert for $3. Come out to hear the talented voices of our EHS students.

TED Talk Thursday: “What Makes Things Funny?” Pet McGraw is a leading researcher at the Humor Research Lab at the University of Colorado, Boulder. In this talk he discusses his research and development of a Benign Violation Theory. All are invited: bring your lunch to the media center.

Juniors:  You may have received an email from College Board saying you are registered for the April school day SAT.  This actually applies only to those juniors who were to test March 3 but did not do so due to being absent or late to school that day.  If you took the March 3 SAT, you will not be taking it again in April.  Any junior who did not take the March SAT will take it in April.

Class Rings: 9th and 10th grade students received information for ordering class rings. Herff Jones will be taking orders at lunch Wednesday, March 30th and Thursday, March 31st. They will also have a family order night March 30th from 2:30-6:30 at EHS.

EHS junior boys ranked in the upper half of their class may qualify to attend Hoosier Boys State.  This is an excellent opportunity to learn leadership skills and to spend a week on a college campus this summer at no cost.  An email was sent to juniors boys who are in the upper half of the class.  Be sure to see this email if interested.

Tutoring: Edgewood’s Tutoring Site, sponsored by NHS, offers tutoring in Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Computer Science, and Choir. Students will be able to simply submit their questions on a Google Form and NHS tutors will respond. The forms, along with more information, can be found at this link.

MCPL Math Homework Help For Teens: The Monroe County Public Library Downtown Branch offers free homework help on Mondays from 7-8:30 PM. See the flyer for more details.

Student Drivers: All students who plan to drive to school must have a completed Parking Permit Registration on file with the school even if the car has been previously registered by another EHS student/sibling and already has a parking tag. Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Wrestlers, if you did not wrestle this year and want to wrestle next year, please see Coach Ratliff for some important information.

Open to all students: This Month’s Book Club Selection is Patron Saints of Nothing, a realistic fiction novel by Randy Ribay. When Jay discovers that his Filipino cousin Jun was murdered, he travels to the Philippines to find out the truth, however ugly it may be. Come into the library to check out this book. We will meet Friday, April 1, to discuss the book and have snacks. See Mrs. Van Allen for more details.

COUNSELING DEPARTMENT/SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Students who would like to request to see their counselor, should complete this Google form: Request to See Your Counselor. The form should only be completed using the student’s RBB email.

Seniors with a Stinesville connection:  The Stinesville High School Alumni Association will award two EHS seniors scholarships expected to be in the amount of $4,000 each.  See this morning’s email from Mr. Faust for details and a link to the application.  Deadline to apply is March 21.
