The 2023 Flash Fiction Writing Contest was a big success! Congratulations to the winner of the 700 to 1,000 word category: junior Emmalyne Brown. Come on into the library to read some of the stories that were submitted. Great job to all who entered the writing contest!

The Coffee Corral is hiring! We are looking for team members that are available to work at extracurricular events during the school year. If you would like to be a member of the Coffee Corral team, check your email for a message from Mrs. Myers that contains a link to the application. Applications are due today, November 17th.

Are you interested in computer science or technology as a possible career field? Just want to learn more about it? An opportunity is coming up in February for students to attend a virtual conference/field trip with Nextech. Here is a link with more information. We are excited to announce that EHS is partnering with IU Bloomington to offer the Indiana College Core, or ICC. Students who complete the ICC during high school will complete 30 college credits, or the equivalent of one year of college, that will transfer to any public (and some private) colleges in Indiana. Please read the e-mail that Mrs. Winkler sent on Tuesday and stop by the ICC table in the Commons today through Friday.

Edgewood Theatre Arts is excited to present “The Addams Family”, a musical comedy that embraces the wackiness in every family. Two weekends with two different family casts: The Friday Night TV Cast or the Saturday Night at the Movies Cast. See them both!

News from the EHS Library:
Hey, all you bodacious peeps. Wanna show how wicked smart you are? Why don’t you join a rad, gnarly, totally tubular, yadda yadda yadda–team of other students like you? I’m talking about Academic Super Bowl. This year’s theme is da bomb: the 1980’s and 1990’s. Think it’ll be epic? No duh! So quit being a couch potato and see Mrs. Van Allen in the library for more information. The teams are math, fine arts, social studies, science, and English. Think it doesn’t sound fun? Whatever. Talk to the hand. Oh yeah, and anyone who joins the team gets $5,000 cash–NOT! (As if)

Our next Book Club selection is a science fiction book titled The Loop, by Ben Oliver. It is about a futuristic death row for teens under 18, and the chaotic world outside the prison. Come into the library and check out your copy today! We will meet on Friday, December 5, to discuss the book. Book Club is open to any EHS student.

Any Edgewood athletes not currently involved in a currently active sport – the weight room is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after school until 4pm!

The boy’s lacrosse team have begun fall practices. They take place every Wednesday from 6:30-8pm on the soccer fields. New players are welcome and encouraged – need nothing but a pair of athletic shoes! Contact Coach Mary for more information at mellis@rbbschools.net.

Students who would like to request to see their counselor should complete this Google form: Request to See Your Counselor. The form should only be completed using the student’s RBB email. Students may not request schedule changes based on teacher or period preference.
