TED Talk: The TED Talk for today (Nov. 18) is “What Role Does Luck Play In Your Life?” by Barry Schwartz, a psychologist who teaches at Swarthmore College. Schwartz discusses how luck plays a role in college admissions and in many other areas of our lives. If you’re a senior who is tired of the whole college admissions process, you might get a kick out of this TED Talk. All are invited; bring your lunch into the media center.

Edgewood Theatre Arts Performance: It’s the bright and promising year of 1959 and the opening night performance of a new musical. When someone mysteriously dies on stage, the entire cast & crew are suspects. Enter a local detective, who just happens to be a musical theatre fan! Packed with glorious tunes and a witty, charming script filled with delightful characters, CURTAINS is a hilarious journey for both performers and the audience.
CURTAINS will be performed November 19 at 7:00 pm, with a special matinee on November 20 at 2:00 pm in the Edgewood High School Auditorium. $8 general admission, and $5 for all students and senior citizens.

Sophomores: Sophomore scheduling appointments are posted across from the cafeteria and outside of the back entrance to the office. Be sure to check for your appointment date/time so that you will be prepared.
Tutoring: Edgewood’s Tutoring Site, sponsored by NHS, offers tutoring in Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Computer Science, and Choir. Students will be able to simply submit their questions on a Google Form and NHS tutors will respond. The forms, along with more information, can be found at this link.
MCPL Math Homework Help For Teens: The Monroe County Public Library Downtown Branch offers free homework help on Mondays from 7-8:30 PM. See the flyer for more details.
Attention students returning from quarantine. Remember that you will need to eat lunch in the gym for four days upon returning to school. You MUST check in with Ms. Dirk in the gym each day at lunch. Students who do not will be assigned detention.

Student Drivers: All students who plan to drive to school must have a completed Parking Permit
- Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
- After you have filled out the form, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES
The Lacrosse Team will be on the turf for winter practices, Tuesday and Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm. Plan to dress warm and be outside until it drops below freezing temperatures! Contact Coach Mary (mellis@rbbschools.net) for more information or join the Remind Group by texting @edgewoodla to the number 81010. No knowledge of the sport or gear is required for these practices. All you need to do is show up!
Track and Field workouts have begun. Meet in the commons. Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-4:00 pm. Please be prepared for indoor or outside practice. Any questions, reach out to Coach Doering.
Girls Lacrosse: If you’re interested in trying girls lacrosse out, please contact Coach Leslie (Btownpridehslax@gmail.com). No experience is needed. Practice is Mondays at 4-5:30 at North on the turf and Tuesdays at 4:30-5:30 on the B-line starting at the pavilion in the Switchyard Park!
