GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Edgewood Theatre Arts Performance: It’s the bright and promising year of 1959 and the opening night performance of a new musical. When someone mysteriously dies on stage, the entire cast & crew are suspects. Enter a local detective, who just happens to be a musical theatre fan! Packed with glorious tunes and a witty, charming script filled with delightful characters, CURTAINS is a hilarious journey for both performers and the audience.

CURTAINS will be performed November 12,13, and 19 at 7:00 pm, with a special matinee on November 20 at 2:00 pm in the Edgewood High School Auditorium. $8 general admission, and $5 for all students and senior citizens.

Best Friends Club members – your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are due next Friday, November 12! There will be a club meeting after school on that Friday to pack and ship your shoeboxes. If you need a shoebox, come get one from Mr. Carmichael on Tuesday, November 9.

NHS Food Drive: It’s almost Thanksgiving and Pantry 279 is in desperate need of some food to complete their Thanksgiving boxes. Next week, the 8th-12th, the National Honor Society will be collecting all sorts of canned or boxed Thanksgiving foods: mashed potatoes, gravy packets, stuffing, corn, mac and cheese, pumpkin pie filling, and more. But this is not only a food drive, this is a competition. The grade that donates the most food will be declared the winner and every student in that grade will receive a prize to be officially announced on Monday.

To see the list of the most-needed foods, check the announcements in your email. Donation boxes will be located at the entrance to the library from the commons and the winner will be declared on Monday the 15th.

Seniors: If you did not turn in your cap and gown order form last week, please visit https://www.herffjones.com/schools/highschool/13001640000/ to order. Prices will increase as time goes on.

Sophomores: Sophomore scheduling appointments for students whose last names begin with A-M are posted across from the cafeteria and outside of the back entrance to the office.  Be sure to check for your appointment date/time so that you will be prepared.  Students whose last names begin with N-Z are posted.

Veterans Day Program: We will be having a virtual Veterans Day Program on November 10th. If you have a family member(s) you would like to be recognized in our program, please fill out this form.
All submissions should be turned in by November 8th.
See Mrs. Taft or Jessica Thompson with any questions.

Tutoring: Edgewood’s Tutoring Site, sponsored by NHS, offers tutoring in Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Computer Science, and Choir. Students will be able to simply submit their questions on a Google Form and NHS tutors will respond. The forms, along with more information, can be found at this link.

Attention students returning from quarantine. Remember that you will need to eat lunch in the gym for four days upon returning to school. You MUST check in with Ms. Dirk in the gym each day at lunch. Students who do not will be assigned detention.

Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.
