DAILY SCHEDULE

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

A reminder to all sophomores and juniors: Sophomores and juniors will take the PSAT tomorrow.  Be sure to check the testing room assignment sheets that are posted outside the office and on the wall across from the cafeteria doors.

Remember:

  1. Do not bring phones or smart watches to the PSAT.
  2. You may bring a water bottle and may have it with you for the test.
  3. You may bring a snack which you can eat during the break at 8:45.  Otherwise, you will not be able to eat until lunch which, for sophomores and juniors, will be at 12:30.
  4. Bring a calculator and sharpened number two pencils.  Mechanical pencils are not to be used.
  5. If you bring a back-pack, you will need to set it to the side of the room during the test and will not be able to keep it with you.

Seniors: All seniors will have a graduation meeting at 10:30 on Wednesday, October 13. See this attached flyer for more information. Orders will be taken at school on October 22. They cannot be made before the 22nd.

October 13: On PSAT day, freshmen and seniors will have classes as usual.  Due to Covid, seniors will not be doing job shadowing, college visits, etc., as seniors have done in the past on PSAT day.

Grades 9-11: Graduation Plan worksheets for grades 9-11 are due to your Homeroom teacher today.

Juniors:  Scheduling appointments have been posted outside the back entrance to the office and across from the cafeteria.  Be sure to check your appointment date/time so you will be prepared.  If your parent wants to participate via Zoom, let your counselor know ASAP.

Swimming and Diving: Attention any girl or boy interested in being part of the 2021-22 Swimming and Diving Team! Coach Kohne is having a call out meeting immediately after school for BOTH Girls and Boys Teams Monday 10/18/2021.  The meeting should last about 30 minutes. If you cannot make it to the meeting, please stop by Mr. Kohne’s room to pick up information. Be one of the first to swim in the newly renovated pool or dive from the 2 new diving boards!

Writing Club will not meet this week, but next Wednesday, October 20, we will meet in the media center right after school. See Mrs. Van Allen or Sophia Hammond if you have questions. All are welcome!

Afghan Refugee Project: Ellie Wooden is collecting items for the Afghan Refugees in Indiana for an NHS project. Items listed here can be donated to a box in Mrs. Niehoff’s room through October 22.

Key Club is collecting donations for UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund). The homeroom that collects the most money will win a donut party on Nov. 8th! Donate any loose change or spare dollars, anything helps!

Blood Drive: Student Council will be hosting a blood drive on October 18th in the small gym.

Tutoring: This week marks the launch of Edgewood’s Tutoring Site. Sponsored by NHS, this site will offer tutoring in Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Computer Science, and Choir. Students will be able to simply submit their questions on a Google Form and NHS tutors will respond. The forms, along with more information, can be found at this link.

Attention students returning from quarantine. Remember that you will need to eat lunch in the gym for four days upon returning to school. You MUST check in with Ms. Dirk in the gym each day at lunch. Students who do not will be assigned detention.

Student Drivers: All students who plan to drive to school must have a completed Parking Permit Registration on file with the school even if the car has been previously registered by another EHS student/sibling and already has a parking tag. Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Wrestling Manager: Anybody that has spoken to Coach Ratliff about being a wrestling manager needs to see him before the end of the school week.
