We would like to invite our community Veterans and EHS family Veterans to be honored at this program. Please fill out the following form for any Veteran interested in attending. Information can also be provided via email to Robin Taft at rtaft@rbbschools.net or via phone at (317) 430-0759. Please have this information turned in no later than November 9th. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdKWYOG6uk_ZfA3VAETkD7XKq_qCTxKXxat16mBhG2Xb99Tdg/viewform

Senior Cap and Gown Orders: Seniors who did not attend the meeting need to pick up a packet from the main office. Seniors and parents were emailed with instructions about ordering. Orders will be received Friday, October 28 during English classes. Info here. Contact Mrs. Johnson with any questions.

The Blood Drive is on October 31st during the school day in the back gym. You can sign up to donate blood during lunch next week on Monday and Friday or you can sign up with Miss Brookman in room E108. If you are 16 or 17 and want to donate, you will need to have your parent/guardian sign a form! Please let Miss Brookman or Mrs. Boisvert-Storey know if you have any questions!

Yearbook Photos: Please use this link to access your Kirkwood yearbook photos. You can order them here as well.

ALL CALL for LIBRARY BOOKS! If you have checked out a library book and are finished with it, please return it to the library this week or as soon as possible. Thank you!

*There is a change to Student Driver Registration: All students who plan to drive to school must have a Parking Permit Registration on file with the school even if the car has been previously registered by another EHS student/sibling and already has a parking tag. Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver. Parents can find and fill out this form in Harmony Family Access with the registration paperwork. Any student who has already received a tag for a car registered to them after filling out the old Google Form, does not need to redo the form in Harmony.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form in Harmony, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Boys Volleyball: Any boy interested in playing volleyball this spring should come to the meeting on Thursday, October 27th after school in the cafeteria. The meeting will take approximately 20-25 minutes and will be just for informational purposes.

Media Center: There will be no Curious Wednesday program in the library this week. The Flash Fiction party will occur during Wednesday’s lunch. Please watch for future announcements about Curious Wednesday topics.

The lacrosse team will have winter conditioning practices on Tuesday and Wednesdays, beginning at 6pm in the weight room.  Nothing is needed, just show up! Contact Coach Mary (mellis@rbbschools.net) for more info.

Interested in joining Leadership Academy and planning the All Nighter for this spring? Applications are in Miss Brookman’s classroom (E108) and will be due on November 4th. Leadership Academy is composed of student council members, SAAC members, and anyone else interested in joining. We will meet a few times throughout the year to develop leadership skills and discuss the needs of Edgewood High School.

Track: Anyone planning on running track should stop by and see Mr. Walter.  Offseason conditioning will start when we return from fall break.

Haunted Libraries Trivia Question: Come into the library to answer the trivia question and get a treat. See Geophrey, the werewolf, for each day’s trivia question.

Softball: Outdoor workouts have started every Tuesday after school until 4:30 at the field.

Academic Super Bowl: If you think it would be fun to be a part of a team where you learn about music, art, literature, history, science, or math, then Academic Super Bowl is for you! We’re currently recruiting team members – all are welcome. If interested, contact Mrs. Van Allen in the library or one of the following teachers: Mr. Walter (math),  Mrs. Mathias (English), Mr. Axsiom (fine arts), Mrs. Boivert-Storey (science), and Mr. Winkler (social studies). Sign up soon to be involved in an easy fundraiser to help cover your activity fee. This year’s theme is “The Age of Exploration: 1400-1650.”

Baseball: Anyone wanting to play baseball and NOT on the Remind need to see Mr. Jones in the front office as soon as possible. Baseball workouts will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:15 at the baseball field.

Book Club: Interested in reading a YA horror/thriller and discussing it with other readers? All EHS students are welcome to this month’s Book Club selection, Rules for Vanishing, by Kate Alice Marshall. This book tells a story in a faux-documentary style. It’s a scary campfire story of a missing girl, a vengeful ghost, and the girl who is determined to find her sister–at all costs. Come by the library to check out a copy of the book.

Boys Volleyball: The IHSAA has officially made boys volleyball a spring sport starting this year. Edgewood will be fielding a team and will begin open workouts in October. If you are interested in playing, sign up at Mr. Jones’s desk in the front office.

National Honor Society: NHS will meet on the first Thursday of each month in the auditorium from 7-7:15 AM.

Writing Club: The Writing Club will meet Mondays after school in the library until 3:15. All are welcome!

Gymnastics: Any girl interested in being on the school gymnastics team this year needs to sign up on the list in the athletic office.
