GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Seniors: If you did not turn in your cap and gown order form last week, please visit https://www.herffjones.com/schools/highschool/13001640000/ to order. Prices will increase as time goes on.

Seniors:  You may be interested in the IU Groups Scholars Program which can provide financial aid to attend IU as well as opportunities not available to all IU students.  See the email from Mr. Faust that was sent Tuesday, October 19 for information.  If you would like to apply to the Groups Scholars Program, you need to speak with Mr. Faust immediately.

Seniors:  November 1st is a common priority deadline for many colleges including IU and Purdue.  Although you can still apply after November 1st, you must apply by November 1st in order to have full consideration for merit scholarships at that college.  Keep in mind that in addition to submitting an application, the college must also receive your transcript by the deadline.  If you are using the Common Application, your counselor cannot submit your transcript until after you submit your application.  Therefore, you need to submit your application by 3:00 p.m. on November 1st in order to guarantee that your counselor will submit your transcript by the deadline.  If you are applying via the college’s regular application, be sure to request your transcript via Parchment ASAP:  Parchment How-To Video.

Sophomores: Sophomore scheduling appointments for students whose last names begin with A-M will be posted across from the cafeteria and outside of the back entrance to the office this Friday.  Be sure to check for your appointment date/time so that you will be prepared.  Students whose last names begin with N-Z will be posted some time next week.

Veterans Day Program: We will be having a virtual Veterans Day Program on November 10th. If you have a family member(s) you would like to be recognized in our program, please fill out this form.
All submissions should be turned in by November 8th.
See Mrs. Taft or Jessica Thompson with any questions.

Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Spanish Club will be meeting next Tuesday, Nov. 2, after school in Mrs. Wright’s FOOD room to decorate cookies for Day of the Dead!

Basketball Managers: Coach Wadsworth is looking for students interested in being basketball managers this season.  Ideally we would have 4-6 managers. Managers would be partnered up and rotate the days they show up to help at practice. He also needs someone that will film jv and varsity basketball games. Students receive a varsity letter for their participation. If interested, please stop by E126 to get more details from Coach Wadsworth.

Best Friends Club members…please attend the next meeting on October 29 after school in the Cafeteria.  This meeting will be very quick and will only last about 10-15 minutes. This meeting is important because it is when we will set up Operation Christmas Child box teams. If you cannot make it, please stop by Mr. Carmichael’s room – E143 this week.

Student Life Task Force: Interested in joining the Student Life Task Force? Our mission is to evaluate and change school policies to better the school and school environment. All are welcome to apply using this form. Reach out to Mrs. Boisvert-Storey if you have any questions.
