Fall Spirit Sale  Through September 25

*There is a change to Student Driver Registration: All students who plan to drive to school must have a Parking Permit Registration on file with the school even if the car has been previously registered by another EHS student/sibling and already has a parking tag. Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver. Parents can find and fill out this form in Harmony Family Access with the registration paperwork. Any student who has already received a tag for a car registered to them after filling out the old Google Form, does not need to redo the form in Harmony.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form in Harmony, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.

Chromebook Protection: Parents/Guardians, use this link to sign up for the chromebook protection plan. It is HIGHLY recommended. The deadline is September 30.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

For this week’s Curious Wednesday in the library, Ms. Byers will share her experiences learning how to perform on aerial silks. Watch her video and be amazed at the skill and strength it takes to perform aerial acrobatics while hanging from fabrics. Bring your lunch to the library. All are welcome!

Baseball: Anyone wanting to play baseball and NOT on the Remind need to see Mr. Jones in the front office as soon as possible. Baseball workouts will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:15 at the baseball field.

Interested in reading a YA horror/thriller and discussing it with other readers? All EHS students are welcome to this month’s Book Club selection, Rules for Vanishing, by Kate Alice Marshall. This book tells a story in a faux-documentary style. It’s a scary campfire story of a missing girl, a vengeful ghost, and the girl who is determined to find her sister–at all costs. Come by the library to check out a copy of the book.

Attention All Potential Swimmers and Divers:
Coach Kohne is having a Call-Out Meeting immediately after school on Thursday (09/22/2022) in his classroom (E110). It should be short (10-15 minutes).  Stop by, sign in, pick up some info for the upcoming season–it’s going to be a great one!!

Preseason wrestling workouts start on Monday, September 19th. Please meet at the weight room and you must have a physical on file.

Boys Volleyball: The IHSAA has officially made boys volleyball a spring sport starting this year. Edgewood will be fielding a team and will begin open workouts in October. If you are interested in playing, sign up at Mr. Jones’s desk in the front office.

Mental Health Club: New club opportunity starting at EHS this year. This club will meet to reduce stigma and spread awareness about mental health at our school. Our goal is to empower students and create a culture of peer support at Edgewood. Email Mrs. Howard and Ms. Vriesman with any questions or to join!

National Honor Society: NHS will meet on the first Thursday of each month in the auditorium from 7-7:15 AM.

Writing Club: The Writing Club will meet Mondays (not Wednesdays, as first announced) after school in the library until 3:15. All are welcome!

Gymnastics: Any girl interested in being on the school gymnastics team this year needs to sign up on the list in the athletic office.

This opportunity is open to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.

The application forms and more detailed information are on the Rotary Club district website http://rotary6580.org/rylaphp.php.   You may also see Mrs. Van Allen in the library for contact information for a Rotary Club member who can answer your questions.
