GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Juniors:
- Any junior who did not take or did not pass the ASVAB last year will take the ASVAB Tuesday, September 20.
- Juniors are retaking this as passing the ASVAB will fulfill a Graduation Pathway requirement.
- All juniors will receive an email Monday or Tuesday letting them know whether or not they need to take the September 20 ASVAB.
More information regarding the ASVAB is coming next week.
Fall Spirit Sale Through September 25
The Edgewood Dollars for Scholars 5K Run/Walk is Saturday, September 10th at 8:30 AM, starting behind EIS. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for DFS, so please consider running/walking to help raise scholarship money for our Edgewood seniors! With $18 pre-registration, participants get a race t-shirt and registered for door prizes. Drinks/snacks and medals for age-group winners will be provided. *There is a change to Student Driver Registration: All students who plan to drive to school must have a Parking Permit
- Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
- After you have filled out the form in Harmony, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mrs. Johnson in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.
Chromebook Protection: Parents/Guardians, use this link to sign up for the chromebook protection plan. It is HIGHLY recommended. The deadline is September 30.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Edgewood FFA: First Edgewood FFA Meeting will be held Tuesday (9/13) @ 2:30pm in Mrs. Ferguson’s Room (E125). Membership forms and dues are due at this time! See Mrs. Ferguson if you need a form!
Art Club will have an interest meeting next Tuesday 9/13! Come see what art club is all about from 2:30 – 3:30 in A106 (3D art room). All are welcome! Art club will meet every other Tuesday in Kingsley’s room
Boys Volleyball: The IHSAA has officially made boys volleyball a spring sport starting this year. Edgewood will be fielding a team and will begin open workouts in October. If you are interested in playing, sign up at Mr. Jones’s desk in the front office.

Mental Health Club: New club opportunity starting at EHS this year. This club will meet to reduce stigma and spread awareness about mental health at our school. Our goal is to empower students and create a culture of peer support at Edgewood. Email Mrs. Howard and Ms. Vriesman with any questions or to join!
Class Clash: It’s that time again! This year’s Homecoming game is on September 23rd against Indian Creek. Class Clash will take place on Wednesday, September 21st starting at 6:00 PM. This traditional Edgewood event gives each class an opportunity to compete with each other in a variety of fun games and challenges.
National Honor Society: NHS will meet on the first Thursday of each month in the auditorium from 7-7:15 AM. The first meeting will be September 1.
Book Club: All are invited to join the Book Club this month. Come to the library to check out this month’s pick: With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo. This realistic fiction book tells of Emoni Santiago, a teen mom who has to balance her school life with caring for her daughter and her abuela. Her dream is to become a chef, and she adds a little something magical to everything she cooks. We will meet to discuss the book on Friday, September 16.
Writing Club: The Writing Club will meet Mondays (not Wednesdays, as first announced) after school in the library until 3:15. All are welcome!
Gymnastics: Any girl interested in being on the school gymnastics team this year needs to sign up on the list in the athletic office.
COUNSELING DEPARTMENT/SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Students who would like to request to see their counselor, should complete this Google form: Request to See Your Counselor. The form should only be completed using the student’s RBB email. Students may not request schedule changes based on teacher or period preference.
EXTENDED OPPORTUNITIES
The Bloomington Sunrise Rotary Club would like to sponsor two students for an RYLA event, which will take place at Bradford Woods this fall. The RYLA program encourages youth to take on leadership roles and learn about the service objectives and programs of the Rotary Club. Most of the time is spent on interactive outdoor and team building activities, along with interaction with students from other high schools in the southern part of Indiana. This opportunity is open to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.
