RESULTS

EJHS Show Choirs had their best competition yet at Bishop Luers High School this past Saturday. Sophisticates won Outstanding Vocals and placed 1st runner up out of 6 middle schools, with Outstanding Performer being awarded to Carter Jackson. Mini Warehouse’s Outstanding Performer was Emma Curtis, and they won Outstanding Choreography and were the overall Grand Champion! They are looking forward to their final competition of the season at Fairfield High School this weekend.

It was a busy weekend for the EJHS Bands. Congratulations to the 8th Grade Jazz Band who received a Gold Rating at the Indiana State School Music Association Jazz Festival this weekend. The band received gold from all three judges and Hayden Bolander, Josh Logsdon, Benjamin Chupp, Jacob Dine, Aiden Sutton, and John Noth were named Outstanding Soloists.

The Edgewood Indoor Winter Percussion also traveled to Pendleton Heights on Saturday night and received first at their contest.

We also want to acknowledge several students who competed in Solo & Ensemble contests last month, including some who qualified for the state level. These students were Ashley Burns, Benjamin Sears, Adam Vitale, Owen Shields, Alder Hanson, Ethan Fletcher, Jack Grubaugh, Carver Crowe, Beau Wallman, Ava Kopach, Hudson Scholl, Madigan Flynn, Landon East, Josie Porter, Grady Vaughn, Drew Matte, Isaiah Cherry, Jacob Dine, Josh Logsdon.

The wrestling team concluded their season as the runner-up at the WIC. We had eight in the finals and finished with five champions!

There is no Robotics practice today. Robotics practice will resume tomorrow for teams G and P only.

There is no Design Lab or Coding Club this week.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Baseball Tryouts:  Tryouts will start today, March 4th and 5th from 4:00 pm-6:30 pm at the auxiliary baseball field.

Softball Call Out:  Anyone wanting to try out needs to fill out the online 2024 Softball FORM and attend tryouts March 6-7, 2:30-4 pm. See Coach Ayer or Coach Schooling with questions. Wear appropriate attire and bring gear.  Catcher gear is not necessary for day 1.

Track and Field: Remember the preseason track & field conditioning is every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:40-4:00 pm.

Anyone still thinking about joining Track & Field, the parent information meeting is tonight starting at 3:30 pm in the cafeteria. Even if you are currently in another sport but plan on participating on the team after spring break, Please make sure to attend this meeting.

Volleyball Call Out: Calling all current 6th & 7th graders interested in trying out for the school volleyball team next year! We will start open gyms on Friday, March 22nd right after school in the multipurpose gym until 4 pm. These are not required but are strongly recommended so you are ready for the season! Calendars and more information will be handed out at the first couple of open gyms!!

EJHS Cheer Tryouts: Cheer tryouts for next fall will be held on March 25th, 28th, and 29th. Any current 5th, 6th, or 7th-grader interested in participating should fill out this Google Form. More information will be emailed once the Google form is filled out. If you are interested in participating but are unable to attend a certain day, please email edgewoodcoltscheer@yahoo.com.

EHS Cheer Tryouts for Incoming Freshmen: Any student interested in trying out for the 2024 – 2025 Cheer Squad, please complete the Google form and we will send you all the information via email.  We will have a clinic beginning Monday, March 4th, and Wednesday, March 6th  from 5:30 – 7:00.  Then on Thursday, March 7th, the tryout will begin at 6:30.

ATHLETICS INFORMATION

Athletic Physicals: Student-athletes must have a completed physical before they may participate in tryouts or practice. A physical dated after April 1 is good for the entire school year. We encourage parents to take advantage of the athletic physical night at Edgewood High School each spring in order to have their student-athletes prepared for any activity they choose to participate in for the following school year. FinalForms: All physicals are now completed through FinalForms. All athletes MUST be registered on FinalForms. Register HERE

Transportation Fees: Each student-athlete will be required to pay a $30 transportation fee for each sport in which he/she participates. Make payments on Eventlink. Under contact information, please enter your athlete’s name and the sport you are paying for. for example “John Doe – Cross Country.” If you are paying for more than one athlete, please purchase them separately.

Event Tickets: We are cashless. We will have a card reader for bank and credit cards at the gate. Or you can pre-purchase tickets on Eventlink HERE.

  • Gate Ticket Prices: $5 per person
  • EJHS All Sports Season Passes: Each pass is good for admission to all home EJHS athletic events excluding County and WIC tournaments. Non-Transferable – Edgewood High School events are not covered by this pass.

    • 2023-2024 Adult Pass – $40
    • 2023-2024 Student/Child Pass – $20
    • 2023-2024 Senior Pass – $20

Attention Students!
Have you had a rough start to your morning and forgot to brush your teeth or put on deodorant? From today on, if you find yourself in this situation you complete our Colts Care Closet form online and your EJHS Student Services providers will help you get those needs met. We have new hygiene products, new or gently used clothing, and more available for your personal use. You will find the link to the Colts Care form in your email, on the counselor sign-up form, and in your student bookmarks. We look forward to providing this support to you and want to thank everyone who has donated to this cause!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Pizza X POP Tabs: Love Pizza X? Love EJHS? Eat pizza from Pizza X and save the Proof-Of-Purchase (POP) tabs from the pizza boxes. Ask your friends and family to save them as well. Each Proof-Of-Purchase tab is worth 25 cents.

Not Feeling Well: Students if you’re not feeling well report to the Health Office. The Health Aide will contact your parent if you need to go home. By-passing the Health Office and contacting your parent yourself will be an unexcused absence. Parents, if your student contacts you, please refer them to the Health Office.

Chromebooks/Chargers: If you have any issues or damage to your Chromebook please see Ms. Edgeman in the Media Center. Due to the high demand and lack of supply, we will no longer be able to provide students with a loaner charger during school hours. See Ms. Edgeman if you need to purchase a new charger.
