6th and 7th graders interested in joining the 2022-23 EJHS VEX IQ Competitive Robotics Team are invited to come to a launch party this Thursday from 2:30 until 4:30 pm in Room 221. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Grimes.

Lists of this year’s Superintendent’s Award candidates have been posted in the Cafeteria and the Media Center windows. In order to receive this award, you must have, for the first three nine-week grading periods, no nine-week grade below an A- and you can have no final first-semester grade below an A-. Please check the list. If you believe you should receive this award and your name is not listed, please see Mrs. Ashba in the office.

Help Edgewood Junior High PTO by going to “crumbl cookies” this Wednesday, May 11th between 3-6 pm! A percentage of sales goes to EJHS PTO to help parents, teachers and students have fun activities throughout the year! Observed annually on May 11th: “National Eat What You Want Day” sets diet aside for a day of indulgence. It’s about having one day a year of eating with no regrets! Please share and spread the word!

EJHS Girls Tennis played at home last night vs. Brown County Middle School. Varsity won their match 3-2, and JV tied 1-1. Individual winners included:
Singles: Sophia Kapperman 8-0
Doubles teams: Ellie Jackson and Ashlyn Schaeffer 8-4, Cora Jones and Meg Wilson 8-2, Ava Norton and Jisela Garcia 6-3, and Holly Scholl and Kelsey Blevins 6-4.
Come watch your Colts play their last home match on Friday vs. Indian Creek at 5:30 pm. Go Colts!!

Last night the girls’ softball team hosted Bloomfield. In the A-game, Ally Bland pitched for the win of 3-1. Girls with hits included Lindzey Rains, Kailyr Nichols, and Addy Yearby. In the B-game, Autumn Coons pitched for the win of 11-1. Girls with hits included Ryleigh Burnett, Brylee Moore, Sydney Austin, Lillian Desalle, Libby McElhinney, Autumn Coons, Averi Krebbs, and Hayden Stevens. We had a nice 8th-grade recognition as well. Good luck to all of the 8th-graders moving on to the high school next year, we will miss you!

Student athletic physicals will be given at Edgewood High School tomorrow from 6 – 8:30 pm. The cost will be $25 cash or check. We encourage any student who may be interested in participating on any athletic team for the 2022-2023 school year to take advantage of this evening. Students MUST have a physical on file before trying out for any sport.
