RESULTS

The 7th Grade Boys’ A team lost to Owen Valley 37-18. Drew Figg was the top scorer with 9 points. Jesse Dixon and Zane Powell each had 4 points and Copper Myers with 1 point. The B team lost 30-24. Jackson Sturgis and Talen Thomas-Hamm led in scoring with 7 points each. Liam Newton played a huge role for the team playing great defense and bringing great energy.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

There has been a change in our Flex offerings for Friday, 11/17. Students who signed up for Silent Reading in the Library will be switched to the Career Panel Flex Session. If you originally signed up for Silent Reading in the Library and you are not interested in hearing the Career Panel, please look at the remaining Flex options available and switch to one that better aligns with your preferences. If you are okay with moving to the Career Panel, there is nothing more you need to do. The Career Panel will meet in the Library.

Attention writers and poets:  Colts Chronicles is looking for short stories and poems to publish. Go to coltschronicles.com to submit your stories and poems on the Literary Corner page.

All EJHS students will be taking the second round of iReady on Monday and Tuesday (11/20 and 11/21) before Thanksgiving Break. Students must come prepared to test with a charged Chromebook and a pair of plug-in earbuds. On testing days, we will report to Homeroom before moving into testing rooms.

The Student Council is pleased to announce that EJHS collected 1,102 boxes of macaroni and cheese for Pantry 279! Our goal was to collect 500 boxes, so you went above and beyond to support our community! Way to go, Colts! Additionally, the homeroom who collected the most boxes (and the winner of a breakfast treat from our PTO) was: Mrs. Jones’ Homeroom! Congratulations!

Next Monday will be the last fall softball conditioning day.  Coach Ayer would like anyone who is interested in trying out for softball to attend.  Plan for both indoors and outdoors.  Conditioning will be after school until 3:45.  See Coach Ayer if you cannot attend, but plan to try out.

Now that fall sports and some fun events have passed, our EJHS yearbook editors are requesting your help. Please submit action photos of sports, clubs, field trips, the Glow Dance, or PumpkinFest for possible use in the 2024 yearbook by uploading jpg images to Jostens from a phone or a computer. Pizza X POP Tabs: Love Pizza X? Love EJHS? Eat pizza from Pizza X and save the Proof-Of-Purchase (POP) tabs from the pizza boxes. Ask your friends and family to save them as well. Each Proof-Of-Purchase tab is worth 25 cents. During the week of November 13th-17th, each POP tab is doubled. Bring your tabs to the Main Office anytime throughout the year

Not Feeling Well: Students if you’re not feeling well report to the Health Office. The Health Aide will contact your parent if you need to go home. By-passing the Health Office and contacting your parent yourself will be an unexcused absence. Parents, if your student contacts you, please refer them to the Health Office.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Coding Club: There will be no coding club next week.

Baking Club: There will be no Baking Club next week.

Math Academic Super Bowl will begin after Thanksgiving on Monday, November 27th. The team will meet in Mr. Anspaugh’s room from 2:40 to 3:40.

Wrestling: For those who are planning on wrestling this year, practices will start after Thanksgiving Break. They will run Monday through Friday from 2:30-4:30. All athletes must have a physical on file. See Coach Sparks for any questions.

7th & 8th Grade Girls’ Basketball: Open gyms will be held 11/16, and 11/30 from 2:30-4 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room.  Tryouts will be held on December 4th and 5th, time and location TBD. You must have an athletic physical form on file and in FinalForms dated after April 1, 2023, in order to participate.

Athletic Physicals: Student-athletes must have a completed physical before they may participate in tryouts or practice. A physical dated after April 1 is good for the entire school year. We encourage parents to take advantage of the athletic physical night at Edgewood High School each spring in order to have their student-athletes prepared for any activity they choose to participate in for the following school year. FinalForms: All physicals are now completed through FinalForms. All athletes MUST be registered on FinalForms. Register HERE

Transportation Fees: Each student-athlete will be required to pay a $30 transportation fee for each sport in which he/she participates. Make payments on Eventlink. Under contact information, please enter your athlete’s name and the sport you are paying for. for example “John Doe – Cross Country.” If you are paying for more than one athlete, please purchase them separately.

Event Tickets: We are cashless. We will have a card reader for bank and credit cards at the gate. Or you can pre-purchase tickets on Eventlink HERE.

  • Gate Ticket Prices: $5 per person
  • EJHS All Sports Season Passes: Each pass is good for admission to all home EJHS athletic events excluding County and WIC tournaments. Non-Transferable – Edgewood High School events are not covered by this pass.
    • 2023-2024 Family Pass (Immediate Family Only) – $100
    • 2023-2024 Adult Pass – $40
    • 2023-2024 Student/Child Pass – $20
    • 2023-2024 Senior Pass – $20

Chromebooks/Chargers: If you are a student and do not have a Chromebook, please visit Ms. Edgeman in the Media Center. Any issues, repairs, etc. also need to go to the Media Center. Due to the high demand and lack of supply, we will no longer be able to provide students with a loaner charger during school hours.
