November 2, 2022 - Edgewood Schools

November 2, 2022

Congratulations to our Junior High members of the Marching Mustangs who qualified this past weekend for the Indiana Marching Band State Finals to be held this Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium. Come see the band this Friday at 6:30 pm in the Edgewood Football Field for a community performance and send them off to State!

The 6th grade girls’ basketball team fought hard but had tough losses last night against St. Charles at home. There were several bright spots for the Colts in the home opener. Alice Musselwhite lead all Colts in scoring,  as she poured in 10 points.  Although it was late in each game, the defense showed up strong. In game 1, the Colts did not allow any points in the 4th quarter, and in the second game, held their opponents to 2 points in the 4th quarter. A great effort last night Ladies!

Thanksgiving Food Drive for Pantry 279 (See Flyer)
Your EJHS Student Council and PTO have combined efforts to collect boxes of macaroni and cheese to donate to Pantry 279 for their Thanksgiving food basket drive. Any brand of macaroni and cheese is great—please bring them to your homerooms 10/24—11/14; the homeroom that collects the most boxes will win a surprise breakfast treat/prize! Pantry 279 works tirelessly to feed our local community and they rely on the kindness and generosity of our people to help—they are planning on building nearly 2200 boxes/meals this Thanksgiving! Our goal is to collect 500 boxes of macaroni and cheese.

Students if you’re not feeling well report to the Health Office. The Health Aide will contact your parent if you need to go home. By-passing the Health Office and contacting your parent yourself will be an unexcused absence. Parents, if your student contacts you, please refer them to the Health Office.

Football, XC, Tennis, and Volleyball season have ended but the training never stops! Keep in shape and work hard to be even stronger next season! Come to horsepower and work on speed, agility, strength, and conditioning. Every Friday in the main gym right after school until 4 pm.

 Viridian Moon Gallery-EJHS Fall 2022
More info…
Our community art gallery, Viridian Moon, is excited to host our 7th and 8th-grade artists’ show again! This is a potluck effort from all local Middle Schools: Tri-North, Jackson Creek, Batchelor, St. Charles, Edgewood, Harmony, and Bedford. This is a unique opportunity to see young artists experimenting with different media and styles from collages to drawings, painting to digital arts, with guidance from their most supportive art teachers! The level of art skills, creativity, and boldness of the students’ art pieces make us, grown-up artists, rethink many aspects of our own works. This show inspires great interest in the Bloomington art society as well as the general public and fosters bonds between creative people of all ages. Come support our wonderful young artists, and get inspired by the fruits of their hard work!
Between October 29th and November 26th come vote for your favorite work! The top 10 People’s Choices will receive awards!
The Gallery’s address is: 1600 W Bloomfield Road, Bloomington, IN 47403 (the entrance from the lower parking lot)
