GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

That time is upon us once again!  Twenty-two German students from Lingen will be spending two weeks at EHS from September 17th  – September 29th.  They will be attending classes at EHS and will be traveling to IU, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and southern Indiana.  This is a program unique to German here at Edgewood, and it is a great opportunity to get to know someone from another culture and possibly build a lifelong friendship.  We need host families to house a student for the time that they are here.  If interested, contact Mrs. Norris at anorris@rbbschools.net

Don’t forget to order your 2024 yearbook!  Order by September 1st and get our lowest price of the year, $50!
Go to jostens.com/2024yearbook or call 1-877-767-5217

The first National Honor Society meeting will be on Thursday, August 24 at 7:00 a.m. in the Auditorium!

Sign up to run or walk in the Hoosiers Outrun Cancer 5K this September 16th! Don’t forget to join the Edgewood Schools team when you register. To register and join our team, go to https://runsignup.com/edgewood. You can learn more general information about the event at: https://hoosiersoutruncancer.org/. Registration prices increase after August 24th, so register soon!

The last Robotics call-out meetings will take place today, Thursday 8/17 and Tuesday 8/22 right after school in the ILC. Current club members and students interested in Robotics come on down to the ILC right after school. This is for folks interested in robotic competitions as well as those interested in just learning more about robotics.

The Coffee Corral is open for business!  We are open every morning,  except Thursday, before school starts from 7:00-7:25.  We are also open during all three lunches.  We accept debit/credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and we now accept cash!  Stay tuned for an announcement about having your drinks delivered during homeroom!

Football: Coach Fischer is looking for 2 managers and 3 students interested in film and sports analytics to work with our HUDL Focus technology on Friday nights. Please see Coach Fischer in the commons during lunch to set up an interview appointment if interested.

Mark your calendars! The Edgewood Dollars for Scholars (DFS) 5K Run/Walk is Saturday, September 9th at 8:30 AM, starting behind EIS. In May 2023, Edgewood DFS awarded a record-breaking $59,500 to Edgewood seniors. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, so please consider coming out to run/walk and help raise scholarship money for Edgewood seniors!!

Musical Auditions: Auditions for the musical production, “The Addams Family – A New Musical Comedy” will take place in the EHS Auditorium on the following days and times:
-Friday, August 18 (2:40-4:45)
-Monday, August 21 (2:40-4:45)
-Tuesday, August 22 (6:30-8:30)
-Wednesday, August 23 (6:30-8:30)
You only need to be present at one of the above times.

Those interested in working behind the scenes as stage & set crew members for the show should email Mrs. Carter. No need to come to auditions.  Contact Mrs. Carter at scarter@rbbschools.net  for more information.

Student Drivers: All students who plan to drive to school must have a completed Parking Permit Registration on file with the school even if the car has been previously registered by another EHS student/sibling and already has a parking tag. Every car in the student parking lot must be registered to the current driver.

  • Students who have registered as drivers in a previous year and have not changed vehicles are not required to register again.
  • After you have filled out the form, bring your driver’s license and $1 cash to Mr. Latham in the school office ASAP to receive your sticker.
  • DEADLINE IS TODAY, AUGUST 18 – Passes will start to be checked on Monday, August 21

Kirkwood Yearbook Pictures: Tuesday, August 22. Seniors still needing Senior Yearbook Photos can have them taken at this time. Seniors needing retakes will have those taken on retake day. The goal for the senior section is to have all students look professional. Dress as though you were going to a job interview. Avoid tops with spaghetti straps, narrow straps, or no straps.  Students should also avoid clothing with words, logos, or other distracting graphics.

Chromebooks: If you are a student and do not have a Chromebook, please visit Mrs. Vanallen in the Media Center. Any issues, repairs, etc. also need to go to the Media Center.
