RESULTS
Girls Swimming and Diving had a strong showing at Sectional Finals at East Central High School.
We had a number of lifetime best times. And moved up in places in a few events. The culmination of a great season of performances. We couldn’t be more proud of every single one of these girls.
Final results:
200 Medley Relay Team (8th place): Nayeli Young, Allison Lilley, Maddie Porter, Marilyn Ballard
200 Freestyle: Ellie Vagades (4th place)
200 Individual Medley: Anna Doyle (14th place)
50 Freestyle: Maya Gill (11th place), Zhenia Venegas (16th place)
1m Diving: Avery Dunham (9th place)
100 Butterfly: Ellie Vagedes (2nd place and a new school record 1:01.19), Jaelyn Woodcock (14th place)
500 Freestyle: Ellie Lewis (9th place)
200 Freestyle Relay (6th place):
Zhenia Venegas, Jaelyn Woodcock, Maya Gill, Ellie Vagedes
100 Breaststroke: Ellie Lewis (6th place), Anna Doyle (14th place)
400 Freestyle Relay (6th place):
Maya Gill, Zhenia Venegas, Ellie Lewis, Ellie Vagedes
Overall team finish, 6th place (out of 14 teams), highest finish in years!!
Mr. Kohne was also nominated as the Sectional Couch of the Year by all of the other coaches in the sectional!
A fantastic day to end yet another fantastic season in the pool.

Congratulations to wrestlers John Orman and Michael Neidigh as they punched their tickets to the Evansville Semi-State next weekend.

Our girls basketball team knocked off Owen Valley on Friday night with a fantastic crowd and student support. This sent the girls into the sectional championship where they gave state ranked Indian Creek all they could handle before getting beat 52-35.

The Bloomington Rotary Club has announced its annual speech contest details. Any EHS student may enter the contest. You will give a 4 to 6 minute speech on the topic: “Create Hope in the World Beginning with Yourself.” If you would like more information about the contest, please see Mrs. Van Allen in the library by the end of the day this Friday. Prizes for winners are $100 for Bloomington area and $1000 for a Rotary district level.
