September’s Book Club selection is Bad Girls Never Say Die by Jennifer Mathieu. Do you remember reading The Outsiders in middle school? Enjoy this gender flipped retelling of S. E. Hinton’s classic book. It takes place in Texas in 1964, and it follows several teens as they go through some of the hardest times of their life. Book Club is for any EHS student. Come into the library to check out the book!

The Shield 23 Foundation was founded in 2018 in honor of Russ Constantino, my father-in-law, who passed away from brain cancer. Our mission is to raise and gift money to firefighters who are diagnosed with job-related cancer. Since its inception in 2018, we have gifted nearly $120,000 to firefighters and their families in 6 different states. We are based out of the Chicagoland area, however our goal is to extend our reach into the southern Indiana region as well.
To do this, we have organized a golf scramble that’s taking place on September 28, 2024. There will be specialty hole prizes, a 50/50 raffle, as well as a silent auction for an assortment of items ranging from a 1-night stay for 2 at the French Lick Resort to baskets of goods from locally owned businesses! All money that we raise from this event will go directly to the families that we support during their time of need.
Player registration is open, and we encourage everyone to sign up through our website so that your spot is reserved! Your registration fee will cover your round of golf, a Shield 23 goodie bag, as well as a boxed lunch. Please scan the QR code on the flier, or access our website shield23foundation.org. From there, click on the “events” tab to find the “Indiana Golf Scramble.” From there, you can sign up yourself as an individual, or if you have a team you can add your other players as well.
If you have any questions, or would like more information, please contact Jason Brown via email at brownrjason20@gmail.com.

STUDENT PARKING: Students park in the front parking lot. In order to drive to school students must fill out the PARKING PERMIT APPLICATION
