🚨 Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are reaching out to inform you about a concerning trend circulating on TikTok and other social media platforms that has begun to impact schools across the country, including RBB and surrounding school corporations.
The trend encourages students to insert foreign objects such as coins, folded paper, pencil graphite, or other metal items into the USB ports of their school-issued Chromebooks. This behavior can cause permanent damage to the device’s internal components and poses potential safety risks, including the possibility of electrical shorts, toxic fumes, or fires.
At RBB, we take the safety of our students and the care of school equipment very seriously. Damaged devices create unnecessary disruptions to learning and may result in families being held financially responsible for repairs or replacements, The cost is $357.00 for full replacement.
We encourage you to speak with your student(s) about the dangers of mimicking viral internet trends. Please remind them that Chromebooks and all school technology should only be used as intended for educational purposes.
If your student experiences an issue with their Chromebook or observes others participating in unsafe behavior, please encourage them to report it to a teacher or school staff member immediately.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our students safe and focused on learning.
Thank you,
Rick

❤️We love seeing our Edgewood High School students give back to our elementary schools.
👩🏻🍳Foodies is a club at EIS that EHS junior, Maya, started for kids grades 3-6 with gluten and/or dairy allergies. She teaches them how to make allergy-friendly foods they can eat in a safe environment!
